Retreat Readiness!

We are so excited to be just a few weeks away from our Superhero Retreat!  Just a mere 22 sleeps from the event!  Can you believe it?

Many of you are old-hat at this retreat stuff, but for those that are new, or need a crash course, here is our timeline to planning for retreat success!  [Editor's Note: This is one person's opinion, and I can't be held accountable if you get there without adhesive ;]

We will reshare our packing list in a a few weeks, but here are the basics!

Right Now:

  • Pay your event deposit!  Can't remember your balance??? Call the store and we can help you!
  • Make sure you have a room in our hotel block at the Marriott, if you choose to stay there.
Three Weeks Out:
  • Start editing and printing those pictures, especially if you send your photos off to a place like Persnickety!
  • Pin away!  I love having a pinboard ready to go with lots of fresh new layouts and sketches to inspire me.  Don't forget to check out our Design Team members boards from new layouts all the time!  [Another Editor's Note: City Chick Amanda H said her most successful and productive crop was when she had her pictures laid out, matched with a paperline, and a sketch or inspiration when she arrived at the crop! Just a thought....]
Two Weeks Out:
  • Double check your basics - do you need cardstock, adhesive, or chocolate?  Drop by the store to pick anything extra up.  We will also have a mini-store available at the retreat!
  • Go through your paper stash and make a plan!  What will you be working on and what paper do you need?  Toss anything you don't love anymore in a bag to get a jump start on your Yard Sale pile :)
  • Watch for retreat t-shirt information - it should be coming about this time!
  • Pre-load your page protectors!  One of my least favorite jobs is deciding what goes where in my album.  I like to work chronologically and it takes a bit of planning.  I put my pictures in my albums in both 12x12 and project life style page protectors and when I get to a crop or retreat, they are ready to scrap - no thinking required  (see the video below all about my process or find it here)

    One Week Out:

    • Wash your favorite yoga pants and pack your comfy clothes!  This is a casual event!
    • Start packing your scrap bags with what you have decided to work on!  Don't forget your adhesive!
    • Start thinking about classes and other special events going on during the weekend.  More information will be coming to you as we get closer about all the amazing opportunities you have!
    Day Before:

    • Charge your phones, iPads, and laptops!  Don't forget to pack headphones if you want to listen to your own music or movie at the table.
    • Grab all your last minute necessities, ADHESIVE, paper trimmer, scissors, and make sure they are safely stowed for the trip!
    • Load the car and get a good night's sleep!  This is a wild and wonderful weekend that will leave you feeling creatively refreshed.  I love getting to see old friends and making new ones, taking time out to just scrapbook, and relax!
Now, go get crafty and we can't wait to see you get your Superhero Scrap on!
