Retreat Packing Time!

We are a little less than three weeks away (!!!) from our Jewel of the Nile crop and we can't wait!  The tiny details are being finalized, classes are being designed, and it is time to start getting your packing list together!  We have a few more seats available, so grab a buddy or come make a new one and enjoy the amazing event!  These huge crops are so much fun - they have a buzzing energy with all the people around and creativity hanging in the air.  However, the one way to not have a great time - forget something major!

We always have our mini-store with us and tons of cardstock, tools, adhesives, and more available to on site ship AND the real store is just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road.  What you don't want to leave behind are the things we can't replace - pictures, that favorite paper line from 5 years ago (or that may just be me...), or the bag of peanut M&M's you bought and are hiding in your closet for this occasion (that could just be me too!!!)!

So, to help prevent these crazy oversights, we crowd-sourced and put together a little packing list just for you!

Retreat Packing List - Scrapbook Things
o Paper trimmer
o Scissors
o Adhesive tape AND liquid glue
o Journaling pens
o Project kits
o Thickers!
o Embellishments
o Paper lines (stored in class bags!)
o Stamps
o Dies and inks
o PICTURES!
o Cricut or Silhouette
o Cutting mat
o Ottlite or small table lamp
o Power strip
o Selphy printer
o Trash container
o Album and page protectors – a place for those finished layouts

Retreat Packing List - Non-Scrapbook Things
o Tissues
o Blanket or jacket
o PJ’s
o Flipflops or slide-on shoes
o Slippers
o A wide variety of snacks
o Checkbook
o Lunchbox to keep drinks cold
o iPad/Laptop/Tablet AND headphones

I like to pack for flexible weather - we have been both hot and cold in the basement of the Marriott, so plan ahead and tuck a jacket in there.  Also, because it is such a large group, we do ask that you wear headphones while watching that Tim Holtz tutorial or latest season of This is Us!

My other favorite thing - a wagon!  I have a collapsible wagon that I use for my son and my scrapbooking.  It folds up tiny in the car, but opens up and can drag in my heavy paper bag and other tool bags.  I leave my papers in there and slide the whole thing under the table and use it like a drawer for the weekend.  It keeps my mess up high and it ensures that I don't have runaway paper sliding somewhere under the table.  You can get the wagons at places like Costco and Academy Sports and are really reasonably priced!   This retreat has plenty of table space so feel free to bring a tiny shelf to sit on the table too!  (I love the "under the counter organizer" available at Kroger in the kitchen appliance section for about $8!)

What would you add to this list?  Any other crop MUST HAVES?

Not - Yet - September - Freebies!

I am never one to rush to the end of a month, but Simple Stories is making it really hard!  Every month they release a new set of printables for travelers notebooks, scrapbooks, planners, and more!  If this is your first set of freebies, know that they are all thematically appropriate and super cute!  Plus, you can get access to any of them from the calendar year at the link below!

Okay... on to September's printable!  I love all these fall themes... there are buses and apples and a composition notebook - my inner teacher is dancing!
I also love the navy blue accents!  Squeee!  Anyways, since I am off to print these bad boys out for my project stash, I will share the link!  You can grab all the free printables right here - for all formats, plus all the ones from earlier this year too!

We would love to see how you use them!  Share your project on Facebook or Instagram and tag us!  I would love to share some goodies on the blog!

Now, go get crafty (and printing)

Lawn Fawn Has Arrived!

Happy Friday y'all!  I am so glad to see the weekend and am hoping that the cooler temperatures stick around a little bit longer.  This week has been busy with Dyan's class announcements and some new products rolling in!

I wanted to share more of my favorites from the Lawn Fawn release.  We are so excited to have the Lawn Fawn at the store and in our hot little hands!  You can catch the whole unboxing video right here.  Feel free to call the store with any requests or send us a message on Facebook.  Please know that we have changed our hold policy - products can be held for 48 hours without payment.  After that time, they will be returned to the sales floor.  You  can always call with your information to pay over the phone!

Okay- and now the Lawn Fawn!  This is going to be a gigantic dump of adorable pictures!  In addition to the stamps and dies, Lawn Fawn is also making an embossing pen and textured white embossing powder.  The textured embossing is great for adding dimension to sheep, super soft snow, and a few Halloween spider webs!

One of my favorite ideas in this little round-up is the double slider in a traveler's notebook!  How smart is that!?!  I think it is a great way to add a little journaling space or a place to put some mementos likes tickets or stamps in your book!

All of this amazingness is in stock and ready for you!  Feel free to call or drop by!  We can't wait to send some home with you!

Now, go get crafty!
