Wednesday Pinspiration!

Can you believe that it is only two days until the retreat?  I can't wait to see everyone and catch up.  In the midst of my packing and preparation, I have been doing my due diligence on Pinterest... pinning new layouts and sketches.   I am the WORST about weeding through my boards and deleting stuff that I am no longer interested in or scrapbook layouts that I have done. don't like, etc.  So, I make sure that I take a few minutes to go back through and add new layouts to the top!

My favorite places to go to find these layouts are our Design Team's layouts on the store Pinterest page and the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch Page.  They also keep these up to date on their blog which you can find here.  I also go back and check some of my favorite scrapbookers and pin some of their ideas!  This is a great time to go back through your Instagram likes to find some fun stuff too!

I wanted to share a few of my pins with you!  These all came from the Studio Calico page.  I like that a sketch allows me to think of a shape, rather than with a specific color or paper.

I hope that helps you guys!  Drop by and see how these are coming this weekend!  See you all in TWO DAYS!

End of January Check In

Can you believe that January is almost over?  We are 1/12th of the way through 2018!  That is totally bananas!  I feel like this year is flying by!

I wanted to check in on everyone's New Year's projects... ah, yes, who has them finished?

I am pleased to say that my One Little Word is caught up for January and I can't wait for the next challenge!  Plus, I have my pages laid out for at least this month and next month.  Woot!  I did grab an old paper line - a favorite from My Mind's Eye to use as filler in places where I need a little something extra and some color.

I am less thrilled to say that my December Daily is STILL not finished.  I am about a third of the way through and trying to decide whether to pack it on the retreat!  In my defense, I packed it to take to a crop and forgot my "swag" (ticket stubs, coloring pages, cards, and other goodies from December) and we can just say that is what really kept me from finishing ;)

I have almost got my brain organized to pack for the retreat - so I am off to finish SOME project!

See you all in just a few days!

Valentine's Day Heart Attacks!

I wanted to share a cute way to get your family in the Valentine's Day mood of love!  Every year (so, for 3 years in these parts), we give my son a "heart attack" for Valentine's Day!  Every night from January 31-February 13, I washi tape a little paper heart to my son's door telling him something we love about him!  My husband and I sit together one night and write out the 14 little messages and hang them on the door as soon as we put him to bed.  He LOVES seeing all the little messages and reading them every morning!

I originally got the idea from a blog, Skip to My Lou, linked here with printables!  I usually use my Cameo to cut out the hearts... it is way faster!  I have also traced cookie cutters and used heart shaped sticky notes.

I love that is it is a simple way to make someone smile and uses a little bit of the cardstock craft stash!

Now go get crafty!
(And we will see you THIS WEEK for the retreat!)

PS - I have also done this for my husband and even though he won't tell you it is cool, I think he really liked it!

Retreat Packing List!

Can you believe the retreat is just one week away!  I am so excited to get out of the house spend time with my friends getting my craft on!  The details are coming together beautifully and you all are going to be blown away by the awesomeness!  I got a sneak peek at some table decor last night and it was AMAZEBALLS!  Plus, for those who don't know, I will be teaching a hand lettering class at the retreat, so if you have always wanted to try but didn't have a chance before... now is the time!  We have had a few seats open up, so if you were on the fence or didn't get your registration together earlier, go ahead and call now!  We have 4 spots open!

A few retreats ago, we crowd sourced from you all the ideal things to pack on a weekend retreat and compiled this list!  I added a few more things that you all requested this year and wanted to share an updated list with everyone.  So without further ado, click right here and print your packing list!

We can't wait to see you in just a week!
Now, go pack your bags!

CHA Wrap Up!

We made it!  We survived and everyone has a wishlist!  I wanted to thank everyone for hanging with me while I made HUGE posts with tons of pictures and goodies.  It can be super overwhelming to tackle these things!  I am so excited to wrap up Creativiation, because that means new stuff is on the way to the store.  I hope you have seen all the Kaisercraft posts this week - their line is already on the shelves in our store.  Don't forget you can also shop online for everything as well!

I did promise yesterday some better pictures of the Authentique, so I will start there!  While searching around, Sara sent me a link from them!  It contains their catalog so the pictures don't get much better than that!  Click here to see all the things!

Okay!  Next up, we got an note from Photoplay and Silhouette!  Photoplay has created a line of print and cuts and die cut shapes, found exclusively in the Silhouette store, that coordinate with their new End Zone collection!  It is perfect for your kid's football pages or documenting the Super Bowl.

I didn't get to share any of Dear Lizzy's new line from Creativation, but I did see it come across my desk and wanted to share it!  I think Parks and Rec fans will recognize an iconic tagline in the embellishments - Treat Yo' Self!  So, let's just go ahead and request this one for me :)  The line is called Stay Colorful and it is super cute!
I just wanted to take another moment to say thank you guys for hanging with me all week!  Tomorrow, we will be back to talking about retreat prep (woot!) and I can't wait to see everyone there!

Don't forget, anything you see and are dying to have, call the store to request it and we will make sure it finds its way to you!

Sara Goes to CHA... Day 4

I can hardly keep up with the days and the new releases, but guys, this is AMAZING!  I have a boatload more pictures from Sara!  She is back from Creativation and had a great time.  Lots of things are ordered and coming soon... others don't release until mid-February through April.  If you are wondering why your favorite hasn't arrived yet, check with us about the release date.  We don't mind to look it up and it will save you lots of frustration.

And, now onto the goodies!  Doodlebug is up first.  They have several cute new lines - a farm one and a puns line!  Yes please!  I love it!  Plus, they are releasing travelers journals as well!

Authentique is up next!  They have four new lines coming out.  These pictures are a tad hard to see, but I will track down some better ones for next week!

Where are my Nuvo fans?  They have a new release of lots of goodies!  New colors in all their products (drops, mousse, flow, glitter, etc) and some new colored pencils and brushes!

I know I shared the Lawn Fawn release with you guys on Sunday, but I wanted to share Sara's pictures from their booth, for no other reason that INSPIRATION!  Lawn Fawn, you make everything a little wonderful inside!

Penny Black stamps are up next with some gorgeous new floral lines, just in time for spring!  I can't believe that these are stamps - I think they look printed!  All my Penny Black fans out there need to put these on your wishlist!

Prima brought lots of new goodies this year!

This next company is brand new!  Everyone get excited about Love + Lemon - they do embellies and twine and I am impressed!  I really like the mixed pack of brads and ephemera and I am always team twine!

This next company is just for you all!  Say hello to the new to us 49 and Market!  Sara had a ton of requests for Dusty Attic out of Australia, and this is it!  It just has a different US name.  Check out all this vintage-y goodness!  We are so excited to welcome these guys to the store!

Next stop - Concord & 9th!  I am loving some of their masks and dies this year!  Super cute and versatile for cardmakers AND scrapbookers!

Altenew is next up!  Their multilayer flowers are spectacular and give me all the heart eyes!  I am loving the stitched look as well... it reminds me of all of Jennifer McGuire's cards!

Pinkfresh is up next with an adorable new release!  They have three paper lines, an embelllies line, and stamps and dies!  I recommend checking out their website for all the things (especially their embellishments - they are awesome-sauce!)

Shew!  I made it!  I have a few wrapup details from other brands that I will share with you tomorrow, but I can't believe we survived this week - no heart attacks, no dying from amazing-ness!  It is a good day!  Don't forget to call the store to request anything you have seen here that you are just dying for!  We will be happy to order, hold, or ship it to you!
