Truly Grateful with Paige Evans!

Happy Friday!

I hope you all had a great week and are super excited for the VIC Crop this weekend - as well as VIC shopping and our VIC retreat!  Anyone is welcome to shop with us, but our VIC's have a chance to score (almost) their entire purchase at 25% off and you all are welcome to come crop with us too!  We have goodie bags and food for a super fabulous day! You can't register for this event online, but call the store to snag your spot!

Today, I am also truly grateful for Paige Evans new line Truly Grateful!  It is another gorgeous line (with zillions of embellies) from Paige and Pink Paislee!  Like yesterday's Amy Tangerine, these colors are a little big darker and I think this will be a favorite line for you too!  And, there is a hand quilted feel to the line too that I love!  Shipping will start in a few weeks.

So, without further ado, here are lots of pictures of the pieces and parts!  You can see more pictures at Paige's blog right here!

I am also loving this snappy new tool that she is introducing!  It is a book binding tool that is perfect for creating your own journals and mini albums.  Paige says she will have lots of tutorials on how to use it in the coming weeks!

I am looooving this new line!  All the pieces and parts make these lines stretch so far and perfect for mini-albums and more!  Which are you most excited about?  Dying to get your hands on this super cute line and tool?  Call the store and put it in the order book!  We will pull your pieces as soon as they hit the store.

We can't wait to see you all this weekend for all our fun things!

Slice of Life with Amy Tangerine!

Happy Thursday!

You guys!  There are so so so many releases coming this week!  American Crafts has been working in overdrive to get all these goodies ready to go!  Shipping starts in mid-July, so I hope we will begin seeing these lines by late July and through August.  If you are seeing something you are dying to have, go ahead and call and have it put in the order book!

So, today, we are enjoying a Slice of Life with Amy Tangerine.  I am an (honorary) member of the Amy Tangerine fan club.  I love her colors and patterns and this line does not disappoint!  I do love that the colors are a touch darker - almost fall like - which is a great change from the bright teals and pinks and oranges of lines past!

I wish these pictures were a little bit bigger, but alas, this is what I have to work with at the moment! You can see more details on both American Crafts AND Amy Tangerine's blog.  Amy has brought TONS of embellishments, as usual, and these are so cute!

What are you most excited about? Don't forget to get your preorders in to the store so we can pull it for you as soon as it arrives!

New Releases from Shimelle!

Happy Hump Day!

We are almost to the weekend and I am so excited to be sharing the next few days!  American Crafts has started releasing their new lines from my favorite human beings on the planet (sorry family!) - Shimelle and Amy Tangerine! You guys - these are two of my favorite designers and I just got a sneak peek at Shimelle and she did not disappoint!

Today, I am sharing Shimelle's new line - Field Trip!  It won't ship for a few more weeks, so it isn't in the store yet... but you can call and get your requests in the order book!  My order is one of everything please!

Okay - I love Shimelle, but I feel like some times her lines are pink and purple heavy and harder to use as a boy mom.  But this line, it has a much more gender neutral feel!

I am loving the bold colors, the graphic prints, and the science-y feel!  This is the sneak peek of the embellishments!   One of my favorite pieces is this 12x12 specialty paper of the color wheel.  The colors pop out and you can use it as a "cover" piece over another paper and use the color sections on a different page, or you can rearrange them.  Yes please!  It is super versatile and a great way to experiment with some of the bolder prints.

Plus, Shimelle shared her very first layout she finished with this line and it is so darn cute!

I love that even though her embellies have a dinosaur shape, they are generic enough to use for other things (like Disney) too!  Seriously, I am loving these colors and that spirograph paper!

Shimelle had a live release video on her Facebook page from earlier this week.  Heads up, it is about an hour long, but you get to see all the goodies!  You can check out the whole hour right here!

I want to know what your favorite pieces and parts of this line are!  It will be here before you know it!  Shimelle flies out the door, so be sure to get your favorites pre-ordered by calling the store!

Pebbles Party

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend with lots of fun and got a little crafting in!  I can't wait to hear all about the show in Virginia - I heard it was super busy!

We are big fans of Pebbles at the store - which should be no surprise! They always bring super cute and seasonal fans with wonderful embellishments.  And, they have a great interactive community on Facebook full of contests and features of creators.  Recently, they have been featuring lots of our crafters too!  A few weeks ago, City Chick Amanda H had several layouts featured... and today, they have featured another one of our crafters!  Jody Compton has a card in their layout challenge!  If you love some of these cards, give them a like - the one with the most tomorrow wins!  Jody's card has a pineapple on it!  You can vote for Jody's card right here with a like!

Pebbles has some adorable scrapbook pages on their blog!  Their design team is bringing some amazing creations!  These feature their summer lines - both patriotic and just summer fun!
I am loving the center cutout of this layout!  What a great way to showcase a second paper (an awesome trick if you don't want to cover up your favorites)!  Plus, this starburst paper is totally perfect for this pairing!

I love this patriotic layout too!  And, those tiny white stars are cut out with a Cricut/Silhouette, so you don't have to glue down all those tiny shapes!

Which one do you all love?  I am between the circle and the patriotic layout as my favorites!
Don't forget to go vote for Jody and the other amazing creators at the Pebbles facebook page!

5 Organization Tips!

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you all have some fabulous crafting plans for the weekend!  I am hoping for a little quiet time in my craft room and maybe clean up a little bit of my crafting mess that has gotten WAAAAY out of control!

A few weeks ago, I shared some craft storage tips and while perusing Pinterest I found this article from Buzzfeed with 45 tips!  I read through and found some of my favorites to share with you!  I also love that lots of these are travel friendly, since lots of us pack up our things to scrap at retreats, the store, and with friends!

1) Tiny brads, eyelets, and more!
Who doesn't have an extra one of these hanging around - or maybe a scheduled trip to Walgreens on the list?  What a great way to keep all those tiny things together - and easier to get into than twisting caps!

2) Teeny tiny ribbons anyone?
As soon as I saw this, I thought of the little 1 yard ribbon spools from American Crafts!  This trick wouldn't work well for large quantites or sizes, but is great for the mini spools.  Plus, the mini-spools are hard to pin up!
*Lesley's Note: Also, what about sequins in tictac containers?!?! Small, no spills, and easy to shake out just a bit at a time.*

3) Hello Markers!
I know I am not the only one with a large stash of markers!  This is a ceiling light tile that is a perfect place to hold each marker invidivually.  This is a link to one at Home Depot!  They come in 2'x4' lengths, but could be cut to size!

4) Spoons are not just for snacks!
This should be filed under, why didn't I think of that!?!  Keep a spoon in your glittler/embossing powder drawer to scoop and target sprinkle the powder on your wet glue!  There is less to clean up at the end and you get better coverage.  So, grab a plastic spoon from your junk drawer and go drop it in your glitter box!

5) When the glitter is done...
Not all of us are a fan of glitter... My issue is I feel like I can never get it all up (same with embossing powder and tiny sequins)!  But, this picture is a great way to clean it up without getting it all over yourself and spreading the mess further - modeling clay!  Using white (or any color clay), run the clay over your glittery space and it will hold on to the sparkles!

Which one of these is your favorite?  Anything going into action this weekend?!?

Apologies, Road Trips, and Cut Files - Oh My!

Happy Thursday!

First of all, I want to apologize!  Apparently, my website got hacked yesterday and I apologize for anyone who had to deal with my grumpy site.  It has been pulled down and I will reshare the printables when it gets fixed.  Again, my apologies for anyone who had to interact with it and had some difficulties!

Second, we sent a big trailer full of goodies to the Stamp and Scrapbok Expo in Chantilly, Virginia this weekend!  Let's send lots of good juju for a busy and successful show!

And, last bu not least, I wanted to share a link the Gina shared on the Facebook page the other day for FREE cut files!  I had never seen this site before, but they have some super cute SVG Files that you can use to create die cuts on your Cricut or Silhouette.  You can check them out here!

They are perfect for adding to your scrapbook or journal!  I saw some that would make incredible t-shirts too!  Does anyone have another favorite site to grab super cute SVG's?

Thank you to everyone who shared pictures and those who participated in class!  We loved having you all here to create with us!

30 Days of Coloring Challenge

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you guys had a great weekend!  We had a blast creating with Dina this weekend and I can't wait to share some pictures with you all.  Learning from our favorite creatives is an incredible opportunity and we are so glad to be able to host them here at the store!

Over the weekend, one of our favorite challenges kicked off!  The 30 Days of Coloring Challenge runs from June 15 to July 15.  Lots of challenge details can be found here, but this is one of my favorites for a few reasons!  First, no fancy supplies required - use markers, colored pencils, whatever!  Second, I love that she encourages making your own coloring sheets with patterns and stamps (gotta use that stash)!  Third, this is a super supportive group where you can link your own projects and coloring.

Kathy, the challenge host, also has a cheering squad of 12 ambassadors who are here to encourage all participants too!  It is super fun and she also has a blog post every day with coloring technique, encouragement, and sharing her works in progress.

In one of her posts, Kathy shared that she loves to color with her Tombow Dual Brush pens and Copic markers!  If you didn't know, we carry Tombow's in open stock (woot woot!) which means you can buy the colors individually, instead of in a 10 pack with the blender.  This is perfect if you are hunting down one specific color!  We also have Copic markers in the store (and replacement nibs for when you color toooo much)!  And, we also refill Copic markers too - and many colors while you wait!

We would love to see what you are coloring!  I am going to try to do a little recreational coloring this month!  My sister in law is a big colorer and I think she is going to participate too!  You can add us in your tag or send us the picture and we will feature some coloring on the blog!

It's Dina Day (and other good news)!

Happy Friday everyone!

I am so excited that the weekend is here and we are in full swing over here!  Today, we are working on a little Father's Day project just for our special dad!  But, this weekend is going to be jam packed for other reasons too!

Dina Wakley has arrived and is spending all day today (and tomorrow) teaching at our store!  We are so thrilled to have her and each of you coming to spend the day creating.  There will be lots of creativity flowing from upstairs!  Even if you can't make it for the class, Dina is bringing lots of her new products to the store for everyone to shop from!

And, mixed media isn't the only thing to hit the stores!  We have a brand new arrival from a super popular paper company.  I don't want to ruin the surprise, but it sounds a lot like Mimple Mories :)  I will have more information on the new arrivals on Monday!

Don't forget to share those Dina pics with us!  You can tag us on Facebook and Instagram - we would love to see and share them!!!

FREE Jillibean Projects!

Happy Thursday everyone!

I am so excited to share these super cute projects with you!  I am a big fan of Jillibean Soup, but sometimes I struggle to use the very busy papers - so scraplifting is my go-to plan for using my Jillibean collections!

And, today, Jillibean Soup is sharing six mini projects that are perfect for creating cards for all types of occasions!  I am thinking about my summer birthday list!  And maybe that pineapple for Father's Day?!?

We have all the pieces and parts ot Rainbow Roux in the store, so if it is not in your collection, come on in and grab some pieces!  Plus, you can get the FREE directions to create all six of these cards at this link right here!

I love that the directions on these are simple enough for an older kid crafter to be able to follow along too!  And,  I will give a hint about creating - they recommend cutting card bases, but you can also save time (and hassle for kid crafters) and use premade card bases!

We would love to see your completed projects - tag us on Facebook and Instagram!

First of all -
This month has my favorite coupon of them all!  This is perfect for ANYONE!  Buy 10 sheets of patterned paper, get 10 half off!  This is approximately two paper lines worth of paper and I love it!  There is always a reason for more paper. :) We have tons of paper lines in store too!  Plus, this can be used online - just be sure to enter the code.

If you don't have a coupon book, they are reduced to $5 each... and this month's coupon will pay for the rest of the book.  It is a great deal!

Next up -
We are so excited to welcome Dina this weekend!  She will be teaching FOUR classes here at the store and they are all sold out!  You can call the store to get on the waiting list.  But, I know she will be bringing some of her favorite things to the store this weekend at trunk show prices!  Even if you aren't taking a class, stop by and do a little bit of shopping!

And last, but not least, The Great Gatsby Crop!  If you haven't marked your calendars for January 31-February 2nd, hop on it!  As of this morning, there are 20 seats left!  And, to get your early bird pricing, you need to pay in full by FRIDAY!  It is a savings of $15 if you pay in full by this Friday, otherwise, it is just a $30 deposit to hold your seat and the balance is due by December 31st.

So, come on in and save some big money this weekend!  We can't wait to crop and create with you!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

We are home again after a week on the road and the splashdown to reality has been rough!  I don't know about you, but routines and groceries are a must have around here!

But, I wanted to share a quick nugget with you all!  This summer, I am teaching online mini tutorials for FREE in my Facebook group!  You can get a spot in the group here!  We also have challenges and live questions and answer sessions too.  It is a great way to improve or learn more about your lettering!

This past week, we learned how to create a gorgeous hand lettered signature - the whole live lesson review is in the group and I have a tutorial on my blog with a video too!  You can check out the blog post here and a YouTube video here too!

Super Special Make and Take

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you all are getting excited about the weekend and making plans to swing by the store!  This weekend is jam-packed at the City.  On Saturday, we are hosting the FREE Make and Take with our City Chick Margaret AND we also have Missy's Bible Journaling group meeting!  Plus, on Sunday, our Plannerds group is meeting up for some free planner time!  There is more information about all of these things on our calendar!  Bible Journaling and Plannerds do need to please sign up on the website (or by calling the store) to be sure that we have your spot saved!

But, I am super excited about the ADORABLE make and take for this weekend! Margaret is bringing all of your American spirit for these super cute blocks!  Drop in any time between 10 and 2pm to create one of these bad boys!
These would be perfect for table decor or on a mantle.  And, I was thinking, how cute would one of these be to hold down napkins at your 4th of July picnic!?!

But, this weekend is a little different - Margaret has a make and take add-on!  For $7, you can have both of these pieces to take home and finish.
Seriously, this might get the award for the best use of $7 this weekend! There are limited quantities of the add on's, so you might want to get here early this weekend.

As always, allow about 20 or so minutes to get in, get signed in, and complete your project!  If you have to wait, feel free to walk around and do a little bit of shopping while you wait!  We have lots of goodies in the store that are arriving!

Now, go get crafty - and come do some make and takes!

Calling All VIC's!

Happy Thursday!

We are so excited to be sharing this fabulous date with you all!  Mark your calendars VICs for June 29th.  The store will be hosting another VIC Crop and they are do not miss events.

A VIC Crop is different from a regular crop for a few reasons -
1) Food!  We have lots of goodies to eat (last time, we had a waffle bar for our Parks and Rec crop)!  I can't wait to see what is on the menu this time!
2) Goodie Bag!  You get a special treat bag curated to go with our theme - think paper and embellies and more!
3) Exclusive crowd!  We only let our VIC's in for this event, so grab your gal pals and join us!

AND, for the first time!

4) This is falling on VIC Sunday, so, your entire purchase during the crop is 25% off!  Yes!  Instead of the regular 10%, everytime you zip downstairs for another sheet of cardstock or pack of enamel dots or that 6x6 pad you have been hankering after, it is 25% off!

There are a limited number of seats for this crop and I don't want you to miss out!  To save your seat, you need to call the store any pay for your spot OR you can register online at this link right here!

Got a question about this event (or any we host)!?  Drop it in the comments!

4 Storage Ideas for Less than $10!

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you all are having an awesome week!  I was perusing pinterest last night (I know, really out of character :) ) looking for some things to pin to my Workspace Envy board and I stumbled across some super awesome storage ideas!

Usually, when I see storage I like, there are a few problems with it.  First, it requires a lot of furniture that I don't have or a ton of floor space which is also at a premium in my house.  Or, it is incredibly expensive.  I am all about repurposing or grabbing things that I can get out of the garage or for a few bucks at Target.  And, then, I saw these four ideas!

First up: A $1 Command Hook!

I don't know why I am not doing this.  We totally hang up cutting mats like this at the store.  It would be really easy to do at home.  And, it can go on the side of a bookshelf, which is unused storage space anyways!

Second: A $5(ish) Pants Hanger

Slight disclaimer.  I have totally done this with ribbon before, but I was thinking about how it would be awesome for washi tape.  And, again, takes up the unused wall space!  Woot!

Third: Each item is less than $10 (work with me here!)!

This is a hanging file folder rack mounted on the wall with file folders hanging the other way!  Again, hooray for wall storage!  This would be great for cardstock pieces or scraps.  And, I was also thinking about vinyl storage here!  It would keep it flat, hold all the little scraps that are annoying to keep track of, and would be easy to pull out certain colors and then replace them on the wall.

Fourth: Trading card pockets!
Grab an old binder and tuck your tiny embellies in here!  Also, how cute with this be for Doodlebug pop ups?!?  A great way to seasonally or color sort your general things like enamel dots or those little tiny alphabets that Lily Bee used to make.  Pearls would fit in here and so would baggies of sequins.  I can think of so many different things to drop in these pockets!  Plus, if you have a former baseball card collector or Pokemon enthusiast, you probably already have some lurking in your house.

What do you all think?  Usable storage solutions!?!  Let me know which one is your favorite!

Now, go get crafty (or maybe organized?)
