FREE and Fun Friday!

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you all are super excited about our busy weekend!  In case you have been under a rock, or perhaps on a social media cleanse, this weekend is our famous Yard Sale!  Come shop some amazing deals, steals, and finds!  Plus,Saturday is VIC Day.  Our VIC's save 25% on their total purchase (some exclusions and does not apply to yard sale), so it is a great day to stock up on the new lines rolling in AND replenish those basics - cardstocks, adhesives, etc!

But, I did want to share some free printables with you to start off the weekend right!  Simple Stories has three FREE sets of printables especially for the month of April that you can print and use for anything!  They have them sorted by travelers notebook, personal, and A5, but you could totally use them for anything!

I love the rainbows and rainboots going on here!  They are super cute and would be great for scrapping last month's ridiculous rain storms!  You can grab your set of printables right here!

We can't wait to see you this weekend!  Got a question?  Feel free to call the store or send us a message on Facebook!

Now, go get crafty!

On The Way!

Happy Thursday!

I hope you all are super excited about all the things going on this weekend - Yard Sale, VIC Weekend, and the upcoming Design Team announcement!  I can't wait to snag a ton of deals at the store!

And, I just got a note from Sara that these brand new lines should be here Friday (according to UPS tracking!) - hello Jillibean!

We are expecting to get a new shipment of shakers for shaker cards, Rainbow Roux and A Spoonful of Soul.

How cute are those little shakers?  Seriously, what a perfect little card for birthdays or just becauses!

And, a little sneak peek of the paper lines...
Jillibean always has the happiest patterns on their paper and they are great for fussy cutting or trimming to small sections to use on cards or layouts.  I also love their super bright colors and happy characters (I mean, that hedgehog is so darn cute)!

Need to get your hands on these before they hit the store?  Call and put it in the order book!

Now, go get crafty and we can't wait to see you this weekend!

Last Call for Design Team!

Happy Wednesday!

We are expecting a very busy day here, but I wanted to share a quick reminder with you all!

Today is the very last day to drop off your submissions to be a part of our Design Team for the next six months.  I have all the details here in this post, but I will share a few of my favorite reasons to participate too!

Before I was a City Chick, I think I served two or three terms on the Design Team (it all blurs together) and they were so awesome!  Obviously, having a discount and free crops meant that I could stretch my scrapbook budget a little further.  It is really nice to also "need" to come get some of my new favorite things to scrapbook and create projects with!  This one may be me, but sometimes, I get a little overwhelmed with new product (especially product I love) and I get creation paralysis and can't figure out how to use it.  However, Design Team kind of forced me to take it out, play with it, and cut it up.  It was so freeing and then I could use it for anything else!  Also, while I was on Design Team, I could get most of my layouts done for the month at the Crop, but it was nice to take some time out of my month to create and scrap.  It was like a little self-care for me!

I can't wait to see what you all create and share our new Design Team members with you all soon!  Make sure you drop off your projects in the store today - it is the last day!!!!

Now, go get crafty!

PS - Tomorrow is the last yard sale drop off day too!

Get Out and About!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I hope you all are excited for the yard sale this weekend (woot!) and ready for today's big events!  If you didn't know - today is Scrap Club AND our monthly Bible Journaling class!  We can't wait to see you all there.  If you are interested in attending either, you will need to call the store to check class space :)

Today, I wanted to share with you another brand spankin' new line from Pinkfresh and I. LOVE. THIS. LINE!  I am a big fan of Pinkfresh and I love this addition of bold colors to their line.  Plus, I am loving the subtle travel details - seriously swooning!  And, I am proud to say that this line is waiting for me in my mailbox - I have already ordered all of it!

Shall we start with some sample layouts?

Gah!  I really can't pick a favorite!  I love this last Iceland layout and am a big fan of the circle layout too!  I can't make up my mind!  (PS - Missy Wheadon did the first and second layout and I understand that she has a process video for one of them!)

Okay... for a little preview of line pieces and parts...

Do you have a favorite piece or perhaps a favorite layout?  Let us know in the comments!  And, when you make your layouts, we love to see those too!  Be sure to share them with us on Facebook and Instagram!

Yard Sale Week!

Happy Monday!

Can you believe it?!?  It is yard sale week and we so so so so so excited to see the amazing treasures you all have brought to share!  My best yard sale steal was an almost complete paper line of Amy Tangerine's Yes Please for less than $10!

I wanted to share a few friendly reminders for the week!
Dropoffs will be completed this week!  Please make sure that you have everything delivered to the store by March 28th (that is Thursday)!  This is a final deadline!  We cannot take anything after that - no exceptions.  As you can imagine, sorting and organizing is a HUGE task and we need to make sure we have all of Friday to dedicate to making it work!

Friday night is preview night!  Woot!  This year is a bit different.  As always, our consignors can come and shop for free this preview night (thanks for consigning - y'all make this possible)!  However, if you are not a consignor and you really want to come shop Friday night, we are welcoming our VIC's to come shop with the purchase of a $10 ticket.

On Saturday morning, we are open to anyone and everyone!  No ticket, no consignment requirement! The yard sale will be open ALL DAY Saturday!

And then, make plans to swing back by on Sunday for half-price day!  Everything with a colored ticket is 50% off the ticket price.  Woot!  There are tons of steals on this day... and a great time to come back if you were on the fence about something Friday or Saturday.

Also.... Saturday is VIC Day!  Our VIC's get 25% off their total purchase downstairs.  This discount does not apply to yard sale items.  However, come grab your favorite things from downstairs while you are here hunting for a deal!

We can't wait to see you all!  If you are not sure if you are a VIC, you can call the store and ask :)
Also, a huge thanks to Kim who is leading the yard sale team!

Small Spring Sets from Simple Stories!

Happy Friday!

I hope you all have had an awesome week and are ready to come create this weekend!  We have BOTH Inky Chicks and Wood Workshop going on this weekend and would love to have you join us! Inky Chicks are embossing all the things!   Be sure to reserve your spot at the links above!

I also wanted to take a second to show these new mini-kits from Simple Stories!  A few days ago (really!), I was chatting with City Chick Amanda H about how much we liked these kits.  They are perfect for in between holidays where you want to have something cute and specific, but don't want a ton of leftovers.  They have a few papers (2 sheets of 3 papers), a few stickers (a 6x12 sheet), and make a couple of layouts - with very few pieces leftover!

We have three sets coming to the store in the next few weeks - Springtime, Bunnies and Baskets, and Mom!  These are perfect for those Easter bunny pictures or the handful you snap on Mother's Day before church (and before meltdowns)!

I don't have a ship date for these sets yet (I would imagine soon, but again, I don't have anything firm), but, if you are hankering to get your hands on these sets, call the store and get yourself added to the order book!  We will pull a set for you as soon as they come in and let you know to come grab them!

Now, go get crafty and have an amazing weekend!

Something New to (Lawn) Fawn Over!

Happy Thursday!

I hope everyone has your bracket filled out for the tournament starting at noon today!  You never know who has the snowball's chance of having the perfect bracket :)  That's what I tell myself every year as I fruitlessly attempt to win the family competition.  (It should be known that the whole family has twice lost to a dog.)

But, ballgame aside, I wanted to share an awesome new class with you all headed to Scrappin' in the City next month!  It is a monthly Lawn Fawn technique class!  That's right, no need to adjust your screen... every month, we will be playing with one of Lawn Fawn's interactive die sets and learning how to use them.  I think this is a great way to "test drive" some of the products before you buy them!  I always want to know if I am really going to use it (and how tricky it is to use) before I buy!

This month, the featured set is the double slider!  How cute is this little card?

The fee for this class is $15 and it includes ALL the supplies paper supplies you need to make the project PLUS you get a discount of 15% if you want to buy the stamps and dies we use in class!  (You will need to pack a basic tool kit with adhesive and such!)

This class is being taught by our resident Lawn Fawn expert Jessica Walters and if you have not met Jessica, she lives for some Lawn Fawn!  Plus, as a personal plug, she is a fabulous teacher - I taught middle school with her for many years!  You will learn so much and have a great time in the class.

Ready to grab your spot?  Click right here to grab your seat!  Jess, I can't wait to see what you come up with next!!!

Today is a Joyful Day!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

We have a ton of new product still rolling into the store from CHA and I am so excited to share one of my favorites!

I am a big fan of Pinkfresh Studio and there are several reasons!  Their papers are beautiful without being super busy.  They have a TON of embellishments for every line (SO MANY EMBELLIES!) and the letters stickers have lots of letters on them!

Okay!  We have TWO new lines from Pinkfresh in the store and today I want to share Joyful Day with you!  Shall we start with some gorgeous papers and embellishments?

This is one of my favorite papers!  So easy to use whole or fussy cut!

This is one of my favorite things!  Pinkfresh has enamel dots, buttons, and more all in one pack!

So many letters!

And, how about a little inspiration from their design team!

Pinkfresh has an amazing blog with lots of amazing ideas, layouts, and information!  Hop on over and take a peek if you are looking for some inspiration - plus they often host challenges to win product and other goodies!

I encourage coming in to check this out with your own eyeballs!  It will go fast!

Swapp Sneak Peek!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I hope you all are enjoying this delightful weather and sunshine!  I am hoping to squeeze in a little crafting time before this week is up!

In case you missed this weekend's Facebook live (which you can totally go back and watch), there is a TON of new product in the store - two Pinkfresh lines, Simple Stories, all kinds of goodies!  I feel like every time I check in at the store, there is something new!  And, then Sara emailed me that this new line from Heidi Swapp is headed to the store sometime next month.  (No sooner than April 1st for shipping!)

But, I LOVE this new line from Heidi!  It is so different than all the other lines on the market.  It is called Wolfpack and is a tribute to her late son Corey.  On a side note, her family has gone through incredible tragedy and I am in such awe of the bravery and goodness that they have created for others out of their loss.  You can read more about her story and all the things they are doing over on her website or social media channels.

Today, I want to share with you a few sneak peeks of the line and its embellishments!  it is very graphic and would be perfect for outdoor/hiking/camping/bouldering pictures!

In addition to the beautiful papers, I am loving the text styling of this line with tons of different fonts and how she is using the animal shapes to guide the text (see the explore more fox above)!

I think this line will go quickly once it gets in the store, so make sure to get your pre-order in!  Just call the store with what pieces and parts you think you want and we will pull it as soon as the box arrives in the store!   Amazing personal shopping!

Now, go get crafty!

Spring Break and Circus Tents!

Happy Monday!

Welcome to Spring Break (that almost kind of feels like spring - whaaaaaaaaat!) and in my house, we are in full what can I do to entertain you mode!  It is amazing that even just an adjustment from two days of school can feel like an eternity.

So, today, we are making a host of birthday cards for family members (this is a big season for birthdays around here) and I am loving how cute kid cards are!  I have been thinking about what else we can do and I stumbled on this super adorable project Sara sent me a few days ago.  Using a few random templates, one of their designers created a circus tent.

This, obviously, made me think of the Circus line that we currently have in the store created by Steve Duncan at Carta Bella! On a side note, I love the bright colors of this line and the vintage graphics are perfect!

These super cute papers and the blank slate templates from Kiwi Lane gave me an idea for how to entertain your crafty kids on this spring break.  What could your kids make by tracing your Kiwi Lane and using the shapes in different ways?  What can they make beyond circus tents and squares?  (Plus, this is a great way to get new inspiration for using the Kiwi Lane templates in different ways!)

We would love to see what you kids are creating over Spring Break!  You can share the projects with us in the comments or on social media.

Now, go get crafty!

It's Dina Day!

Happy Friday y'all!

I am so excited to say this today - we are opening up Dina Wakley's classes for registration THIS MORNING!  At 10am, all of her classes will go live on the website or you can call or come by the store to get your place.  Classes with guest instructors always sell out super fast, so make sure you grab your seat as soon as possible!

In honor of today, I thought I would share some of my favorite things about guest instructors!

  • You learn SOOO much!  The tips, tricks, and tidbits are always so helpful and you learn so much more than you thought!
  • New products!  I love that these classes let you get your hands on new products AND learn how to use them, without having to make a purchase.  I like to test drive an art supply before I make an investment and this is a great way to do it!  (PS - Dina's classes include most supplies!  WOOT!)
  • Scrapbook Worthy!  I love seeing scrapbook pages (and Instagram posts) of you all with our crafting heroes!
  • Smaller class sizes means more attention!  This may be specific to our store, but I love that the classes are not any bigger than 15, so you get lots of personal attention.  There are some places where the same classes sit 50 or more people.
  • The timing.... let's just say, if you are looking for a reason to take the class, it would make a great Mother's Day gift!  Just forward that link to your family, or go ahead and register and let them know they are off the hook this year (except for breakfast.  ALWAYS require breakfast!
We have had lots of guest instructors come to the store over our time in Knoxville and I have never ever hear someone say they didn't enjoy a guest instructors class!  We would love to have you!  Got a question about the classes?  You can drop them in the comments or call the store and we will be happy to answer them!

Ready to register?  Grab your seat at the link below!

Now, go get signed up and crafty!

Challenges!

Happy Pi Day Everyone!

I hope everyone is planning to indulge in some delightfully circular food today!  We are having Pizza Pi and Key Lime Pi for dessert!  Another favorite of ours is tomato pi (sooooo gooood)!  I have a pie lettering request over on my Facebook and Instagram!  Feel free to drop your favorite pie in the comments and get it hand lettered.

I, however, am not the only one hosting challenges today!  We have TWO active online communities with challenges running at the moment!

First up - our VIC group!  If you are a VIC, make sure you are checking out Gina's weekly challenges.  They are layout or card based and give you a lot of freedom to create!  The challenge announced yesterday was to create a card using florals as your inspiration.  We have tons of floral papers, stamps and dies, and embellies in the store, so come in and get super inspired!

The next group creating amazing projects at home?  Our online Bible Journaling group, which is open to anyone!  You can join their community right here on Facebook.   Missy is currently hosting a St. Patrick's Day inspired challenge in that group!  You can share your favorite green page from Bible Journaling or Devotional Journaling.

My favorite part of challenges, though?  Seeing all the amazing ways that people interpret a challenge and create within limitations.  It may be the teacher in me, but I think this is when people create the most incredible pieces!  So, make sure you join in every now and then, but ALWAYS check out the entries!

Now, go get crafty (and create!)

PS - Are you ready for Dina Wakley registration to open????  See you tomorrow at 10am!

Three New Mini-Album Classes

Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone is having a great week!  I am so excited to share these three brand new classes with you all!  I am loving the mini-album trend and we have three brand new mini-album classes coming up!  You can find all of our classes at the class calendar right here!

First up, the perfect album for your Little Princess...

We will create this mini-album that features the Little Princess line from Simple Stories.  In three hours, you will create a complete album that is ready to drop pictures in!  I love this album as a great gift for a baby shower or a grandma gift.  This album size is just right to drop in a purse or tote bag to share with friends.  The class fee for this class is $35 (!) and includes most of your supplies!  You can register for this class at this link right here.

The next day, April 4th, Margaret is sharing this adorable album that is made from a gift bag!

She shared this project at our latest retreat and I am so glad that you all are getting a chance to create this one!  Plus, I love that this template could be used for a variety of different bags and themes - birthdays, retirements, Christmas, and more!  This class is being offered at 12pm and 6pm and is a $12 class - what a steal!  Grab your seat right here!

Okay, and last, but not least, who has some Disney scrapping to catch up on?  Surely, I am not the only one!  Sara is bringing another mini-album from Simple Stories featuring Say Cheese 4 and it is so cute.  (Also, as I type this, a Disney commercial came on the TV, so I think it is destiny!)

This class is a completed 6x8 album that is ready for you to drop your pictures and journaling in!  You will need to bring a basic toolkit, but the class fee includes all papers, page protectors, and the album!  I might even say an excellent thing to pre-make before your next trip!  Snag your seat in this class right here.

Which class are you dying to get your paws on?
Now, go get crafty!

PS - Don't forget - Dina Wakely registration opens on Friday!!!!
