Yard Sale Sneak Peeks!

So sorry this is a bit late - I was on hold for the most up to date pictures of the yard sale!!!!

From my look at the pictures, this looks like it might be one of the biggest ones yet!  A big thanks to Kim who organized the event - I know there are tons of great deals and new favorites to be had in the stacks!

As always, we have everything from paper and embellies, to storage, stamps, and Cricut cartridges!  I really think you could find just about everything here!

The sale goes today and tomorrow is Half-Priced Day where everything with a colored tag is just 50% off.  There are no holds and the whole event is first come first serve - we can't wait to see you there~

Now, go get crafty (and yard sale-ing)!

Finally! The Lawn Fawn Release!

This is a really awesome week - Dyan's coming, the yard sale is happening, and Lawn Fawn is celebrating release week!  I am so excited to share these with you.  As always, Lawn Fawn has brought their A game and these new stamps, dies, and other goodies are PHENOMENAL!

There are lots and lots of details over at Lawn Fawn's blog, right now, I am just going to share a few pictures from their site.  (On a side note, let's give their Design Team ladies a hand, because they have BROUGHT IT for this release!)  Also, this means we will be ordering soon, so if you see a product you are dying to have - give us a call and we will make sure you get one before it hits the floor of the store.

Okay... now the stamps!

How adorable are these pumpkin patch cards!  They use the Pick of the Patch stamps and die and the reveal wheel add on (there are tons of reveal wheel examples on their blog).  Plus, this super cute spooky fence die and lots lots lots more.

They had one card with a glow in the dark embossed moon and stars... but I think some of these little jack o'lanterns would be precious with glow in the dark faces!

We will be sharing more this week and next from Lawn Fawn's release, but as always, feel free to call with your wish list so we can get it ordered just for you!

PS- See you at the pre-sale tonight Consigners!

Drop Off Days!

After yesterday's big news, I am feeling a little tired!  I know there are a lot of questions about classes and such and hopefully we can answer them this week or early next week!  We are so thrilled to have Dyan back and her classes are always full!

Today, I wanted to pass on a friendly reminder to get that yard sale goodness packed up and dropped off!  When I yard sale-d regularly (back when I lived in town), I made myself a little checklist to make sure that I followed all the rules and didn't miss anything - and I wanted to share it with you!

  • check all scrapbook bags/boxes for extras and garage sale goodness
  • individually wrap or package papers, embellies, and other small pieces (I kept a box of sandwich size and gallon size bags in my craft space at yard sale time)
  • go back through a price all items - remember, this is a yard sale and if you don't want to see it again, price aggressively!
  • pack in a box I don't care about - neatly so nothing crinkles or gets hurt - and light enough to carry up a flight of stairs at the store!
  • pencil in the pre-sale for Consignors - this Thursday from 6-8pm!

Don't forget to make plans to pick up your leftovers after they get re-sorted, unless you are donating to KARM!  We have to get these extra boxes out of the store to prepare for our September retreat and Dyan's impending visit!!!!

We can't wait to see everyone for this jam-packed events!
Now, go get crafty (and sorting)!

Save the Date!

You guys - I have been bursting at the seams to share this information with you!!!!  We are so excited to be welcoming back one of our favorite guest instructors to Scrappin' in the City

The wonderful, fabulous, and always inky Dyan Reaveley is headed back to Knoxville September 28-30 to teach more classes at our store!

As of right now, I do not have class details - they are being finalized, BUT I wanted to let you know so that you can block off the weekend and start saving those pennies to get a little bit messy with Dyan!  These classes always fill up in a hurry and once they go live, you do not want to have to reschedule your social calendar ;)

Hopefully, an official event calendar will go live at the end of this week or the beginning of next week - stay tuned for all the details - they will definitely be shared here!

As always, class coupons can't be used for Dyan's workshops, BUT you can definitely use your money earned in the Yard Sale!  Maybe take one more sweet around that craft space to clear out all the extras - you never know how much inky magic can be traded for your old supplies.

Got questions? Drop them in the comments below or on our Facebook page!

New Product How - To!

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready(ish) to take on the new week!  We were so busy, I think this week will be a bit of a break for us!

I am so excited to share this adorable new product with you!  Our Design Team Member Rachelle was telling me all about it at the crop and shared this adorable card with Tim Holtz's Alcohol Ink Paper!  She used the Lawn Fawn stamp and die set Mermaid for You.

I am so impressed by the vibrancy of the alcohol inks and the incredible texture she got by using the paper!  The paper is super glossy so you always get a really bright, shiny look and I think it makes your alcohol inks look that much cooler!  One of the things I enjoy about alcohol inks are how quickly they dry on the paper - it makes projects go so quickly if I am creating a card, or even just experimenting and cleaning up before naptime is over!

This paper is available in store now!  And priced at less than $7 for 20 pieces is a great deal!

Want to watch a tutorial?  Check out this video on You Tube for a two and a half minute tutorial!

Thanks Rachelle for sharing this awesome technique (and card) with us!

PS - We have a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT coming this week!  I can't wait to share it with you!!!!!

Make and Take Weekend!

Happy Friday everyone!

Can you believe that we have finally made it to the weekend?  This first week of school is always exhausting and draining and I think that makes the first weekend a little bit sweeter!

We are so excited to be hosting our monthly Make and Take this weekend and it is making me squee!  Our City Chick Margaret is bringing some amazingness to you all (as always) and you do not want to miss it!

Each month, Margaret features a different supply or technique and this month we are so thrilled to be featuring Lawn Fawn's firefly stamp and die set AND Lawn Fawn's glow in the dark embossing powder!  How cute is this little card?  And, it glows in the dark!?!?  YES PLEASE!  Talk about making your cards stand out - I love it!

This month, our Make and Take group will meet upstairs because of the clearance sale going on downstairs.  The make and take lasts about 20 minutes from start to finish.  Please allow a little extra time to get signed in and have your name called!  (This is a great time to do a little shopping or drop off those yard sale goodies)

And, our Make and Takes have a rewards program that is awesome!  That's right - a free make and take with a free rewards program - insert all your heart eyes here!  All you have to do is attend 5 Make and Takes and you get a free $10 card to spend on anything in the store - your favorite make and take supplies, an album, a giant pile of cardstock, some embellies that have been calling your name - anything!  (The card is good for 3 months after date of issue!)

Make and takes do not require a reservation so drop in while you can from 10-2 tomorrow and we can't wait to see you!

Now, go get crafty!

PS - Yard Sale drop offs have begun, so go ahead and bring all those things in!!!

Mountain Getaway!

I hope everyone had a great first day of school yesterday!  My little guy has a few more weeks before preschool starts, but he is so excited!  I know the flurry of first day pictures and nerves is exhausting and all the new routine can wear you out for the first few days, so grab that afternoon nap!  And.... make plans for a little you time!

We are thrilled to announce the date for our one AND ONLY cabin retreat this fall in Gatlinburg!  Mark your calendar for November 1-4, 2018 and grab a friend!  If you are new to cabin retreats, they are a bit different than our hotel crops and here is why:

1) Accommodations provided! - Stay in our beautiful cabin!

2) Meals organized!  - Sara and the Chicks prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner Friday through Sunday

3) Adorable crop tees - Each crop has a cute theme with decor and a tshirt is included in your registration fee!

4) Mini-store and shopping discount - Sara packs up some of your favorite things, a die cutting machine, and more so it is just like shopping at the City.  Plus, there are always more of the basics - no more running out of adhesive here!

5) Convenience! - We are just down the road from the outlets and more.  Need a little fresh air?  Stretch your legs on a walk!  Need to knock out a bit of Christmas shopping?  Zip down the road and do a few minutes of shopping!  This weekend is all about you!

This weekend is a great way to have a little bit of pampering and a break from the real work of regular life! I love that it starts Thursday night so you get a full day of Friday, Saturday, and most of the day Sunday crop time.

Because these retreats are smaller, it is a great cozy feeling of scrapping with friends.  I have been twice and I love them!  Are you ready to sign up?  Click this link to pay the deposit and save your spot.  The balance is due two weeks before the event - or sooner if you want!

Got a question?  Drop them in the comments or on our Facebook page!
