Design Team Highlights and Shopping Sprees!

Happy Friday everyone!

Another crazy week has come to a close!  I am so excited for this weekend - Easter is my favorite holiday and I am ready to cook and decorate eggs and prepare for the bunny :)

But, before we get to that... all of us City Chicks wanted to thank you again for your amazing orders and support of the store!  Check out all these boxes that are shipping out this week from our Facebook sale last week.

I think we are keeping the post office in business these days!  Since we didn't even finish everything on the list, we are having a SECOND SALE tonight!  Join us for Facebook Live Part II!  We have lots of new things in the store, in addition to the goodies Sara already has planned!

And, I have a super cute surprise!  Since our Design Team can't share their amazing-ness in the store, we will be sharing their goodies on the blog!  I wanted to share two layouts from Liz Longest today!  These are so cute and ready to be scraplifted.

FREEEEEBIES!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

I hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday!  Sara has been working super hard and has got all the orders pulled and invoiced from last Friday night's Live Sale!  You guys are amazing - the video of the orders is insane!  I can only imagine what the mail man is going to thing :)

I wanted to share a few free resources with you!  First up - some adorable digital stamps!  These are from the stamp company My Favorite Things!  Check out these precious cards from their Design Team!

These files are available to download through the end of the month so make sure you go ahead and grab them now to use whenever!  These would be perfect for a doctor you know!  I am thinking about dropping one off at our doctor's office when the dust and germs settle to share our thanks.

AND, Tombow has some great freebies too!  They have tons of free lettering and coloring pages ready to download and print!  You can find them all right here.  Plus, you can inventory your supply collection and create your color charts for their markers, pens, and colored pencils.  All the inventory sheets are available here!  (Plus, they have a chart with the best uses for all their glues - WHO KNEW!?!)

Tombow has a great design team with tons of information and tutorials available - including a full tutorial on the Dual Brush Pens, how to draw a poppy flower, and a 3-D paper flower tutorial!

I think one of the best parts of being at home, for me, is the chance to learn something new without the pressures of coming and going to lots of different places.  What unexpected perks have you discovered?

Brand New Online Card Class!

Happy Monday everyone!

I am very happy to report that this weekend I got to do my first scrapbooking since I had a baby in October (YIKES)!  It was delightful and I am hoping to re-find my mojo soon!  Thank goodness for scraplifting and the treasure trove of ideas that is Instagram.

Keeping busy has not particularly been a challenge with two tiny people around the house, but I am definitely looking for something to stretch my adult brain and I am so excited to have found the perfect new activity!  One of our most favorite card makers, Jennifer McGuire, is teaming up with some amazing artists to offer a new Spring Card Camp class that kicks off this Saturday.  It is $25 for 20 days of amazing new cards.  It is all about making two-for-one cards.  You will get a new video each day and lots of great content!  Find out more information about the class at this link right here!

Jennifer has some GORGEOUS inspiration cards on her instagram - which you can find right here!  I am not typically a card maker, but these pictures make me want to start.  Plus, this is a great time to send a card to a friend, your favorite essential worker, or resident of a senior living community!  In fact, you can send a whole bunch to a senior community to be distributed without knowing names!  Put that stash to good use :)

Back to Craft School!

Happy Monday!

I hope you have had a great weekend!  We enjoyed the beautiful weather here and got to spend a little time outdoors.

Last week, we asked what you all wanted to learn... and you all shared tons of information!  I wanted to share some of the classes that I have seen online for a little home learning while we are staying away from the germs!

First up!  Ken Oliver is offering a FREE class for you all!  He is one of 24 artists sharing his skills!  Plus, the class is live for 2 months so you don't have to binge watch all the art :)  You can get signed up for the class right here:  24 Hour Art Party!

I'll take a moment to share my classes!  On Saturday, I am teaching a hand lettering class using Crayola broad tip crayons through a non-profit in Chattanooga.  It is an online class so you can join me from anywhere!  Grab a seat through the Chattery right here!  I also teach my beginning hand lettering class and my chalk lettering classes online all the time through my website Lettering with Lesley!

Not a class... but Paige Evans is having a 70% off all her cut files sale on her Etsy shop through the 31st... so you are welcome ;)

Amy Tangerine has a great travelers notebook class going on right now!  Six lessons about being positive, embracing your creativity, and all things travelers notesbooks.  It is currently $10 off the regular price - you can register here!

Karen Abend is hosting Sketchbook Revival!  It is 14 days of lessons taught by a variety of artists.  Sunday's lesson was all about floral watercolors and a second lesson about expressive portraits!  Plus, it is totally FREE!  You can register for the series right here!

Our Bible Journaling group is meeting online this week!  Missy is teaching a LIVE class online at 8pm Thursday night.  It is featuring Jen Hadfield's new line with all the hedgehogs.  You don't want to miss out!

And, tomorrow, Tuesday, we are teaching our Copics class online!  Call the store to get more details and to make sure you have the supplies!

There are lots of chances to learn and I am sure there are more that I missed!  Comment in our Facebook comments with your favorite lives and lessons!

Happy Friday Friends!

I hope everyone is still feeling good!  As ready as I am to be back to normal, I feel so thankful that everyone in our house is healthy!

First up, I want to say that I am so impressed with the incredible work you are all creating and sharing from our Creating Rainbows Challenge!  It is gorgeous and there are so many different types of creative projects!  It makes my crafter heart so happy!

Also, make sure you are keeping your eyes on your email for updates about classes being rescheduled, offered virtually, and other store based events.

Okay, ready for some fun Friday goodness?  I have seen so many cards that you all have created for the Creating Rainbows challenge, I am challenging you to send one!  Last week, my five year old and I mailed a card to his friend and it was so sweet to watch him get so excited.  Let's be real, who doesn't love snail mail!

I found this fun list of things to tuck into a card that doesn't change the mailing rate!

  • tea bag
  • confetti
  • stickers
  • seed packets (happy Spring!)
  • packet of drink mix
  • little drawings
  • buttons
  • string - or maybe some bakers twine
  • fun feathers
  • piece of gum
  • flat candy - Airheads anyone?
  • a balloon
  • pressed flowers or leaves
  • photos
  • origami
  • pretty paper
  • ribbons or fabrics
  • washi tape (my favorite way to share it is on a embroidery floss card)
  • cool paper clips
  • charms
  • book marks
  • magazine cutouts
  • money :)
  • small notebooks
  • charms
Who are you mailing to this week?  I think it is going to be our family goal to send a letter once a week to someone to cheer them up!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

We are so sad that the store is closed to customers at the moment... but I am glad that Knoxville is taking our health into consideration first!  I hope that we are back open super soon!  In the mean time, we are definitely still shipping, so feel free to order online, call or message the store and we can get a package out to you!

I don't know about you all, but I feel like for me, this time is like a new New Year's Resolution and I am ready to learn something new!  I have seen tons of people coloring in our new challenge and I wanted to pass along this super tutorial about blending with colored pencil!

How gorgeous are those little squares?  Plus, I keep thinking about how awesome they are going to look with all the stamp sets!

Do you have something that you are ready to learn!?!
