Post Thanksgiving Struggles

Y'all... I don't know about anyone else, but I have been on the struggle bus today!  I didn't get my post up yesterday and I am on the struggle bus.  I am in full swing trying to get my shopping done, cards written, and laundry folded!

But, I am so excited to welcome in all the things that come with December - including the crop this weekend(!) - and the beginning of planning for  the 2018 year!  And that means that the brand new coupon book is out and ready for you!  This is the best deal of the year and pays for itself in just 2 months!

January's coupon is for $5 off a purchase - this is a great way to make those Christmas gift cards go even further!  They are perfect for stocking stuffers or the accessory to a gift card!

A sneak peek of a few other months!  Each month is a great value and is perfect for scrappers, mixed media ladies, and card makers!

Also, a friendly reminder that this is the last week to get a free pack of page protectors with an album purchase - just part of the 2017 coupon book!

Can you believe that the Christmas season is officially here?  Shopping is in full swing and I am already feeling the pressure.  I don't know about the rest of you, but often times, I would love some scrapbook goodies in my stocking or under the tree!  I have a few relatives who do not like giving gift cards and prefer to pick out something special, so I have the perfect solution!

Check out the Scrappin' In the City wishlist!  Print this list and take it with you to the store... create you list and leave it where the elves can find it!  It makes it easy for those who are looking for something just for you (and need a little guidance)!

December Daily from Simple Stories

Has anyone started their December Daily yet?  I *think* mine is prepped and ready to go for the Christmas season!  A note of caution, this is my first year doing one, so take all I say with a grain of salt.  I premade my pages and have space to add in all my holiday pictures and goodies!  I will report back with how it is going, once December arrives!

I saw these beautiful kits in the store and they caught my eye!  Simple Stories always has an amazing December Daily kit and this year they may have out done themselves!

I love all the buffalo plaid and the adorable numbers!  Squee!  There are some still in the store if this piques your curiosity.  If this whole process seems really overwhelming (the reason it took me so many years to do one), then we have the class for you!  Sign up and join Amanda Hillard on December 1 to make one!  You can register right here - it is $35 and you will walk out the door with one completed!  Woot!

Now, go get crafty!

PS-Don't forget to make plans to see us on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday!  Great deals are to be announced!!!

Last Minute Thanksgiving Cards!

The countdown is on and we are so close to the big Turkey Day!  I am packing our suitcases for a weekend of travel and trying to decide what pens I can stick in my bag!  (Does someone else insist on taking art supplies on every vacation.... because you just never know???)  Anyways, if you need a cute Thanksgiving card to whip up quickly or perhaps you are bringing a project for kids to work on, check out his adorable card from our friends at Photoplay!

It features their fall line Autumn Orchard!  I love that it is a versatile card and could totally be done with little hands too!  If you need directions, they are right here and this is the link to the cut file!  We have a little more of this paper line in store - so drop by to get it!

We would love to see any Thanksgiving crafts you are up to!  Share them on Facebook and Instagram and don't forget to tag us!

A Very Tim Holtz Christmas!

Gina has been hard at work with the latest release of Tim Holtz goodies!  She created this amazing Christmas display and I am super thrilled to share it with you!  It is currently on display in the store and words don't do it justice, so make sure you stop by and take a gander when you are here!

The base of the kit is the Tim Holtz Vignette boxes and vignette box tops.  She took the other goodies and embellished the heck out of these boxes!  She use the paper from Tim Holtz Christmas paper pad for the backing papers as well as the box tops.

All these little details are just perfect and make an incredible completed holiday scene!

Gina snapped a picture of all the products she used - I have added links to shop online for each of them!

The Christmas lights are a mini light set from Target.  I am just so impressed with this incredible work of art!  Stop by and see it in real life at the store and let it inspire your Christmas wonderland!

Leave your kudos to Gina in the comments or on our Facebook page!

New Pen Alert!

I had such a great time at Bible Journaling last night!  A huge thanks to the ladies that joined me and I can't wait for next month!  While we were at the store last night, I stumbled across these new pens from Creative Devotion and thought we should give them a whirl!

I took them out to try journaling and a little bit of coloring in my bible and I was shocked!  They are a felt tip, water soluble pen that has incredibly fine lines and bright colors.  I loved writing and journaling with them!

When I wrote, I had very little bleed through or ghosting on my page.  Coloring gave me more, so I would just recommend journaling if you don't like the way marker shows through on the page.

At the end of the evening, most of the ladies ended up taking a pack home!  They are a great value at $10.79 for 9 pens.

Drop by the store and check them out - plus see all the other Creative Devotions products new to the store!

Thanksgiving Scrapbook Inspiration

I am feeling caught in the weird space between Halloween and Christmas.  I feel like it is too early to take out my jingle bells, but since we aren't hosting Thanksgiving, I don't really have anything to do to get ready to celebrate.  So, I went to Pinterest (obviously) and found all these cute Thanksgiving layouts!  I can't take credit for any of these and have linked their sources back... they were just some of my favorites!

Which one of these inspires you?  Be sure to drop by the store to pick up your favorite fall lines!

Christmas Card Conundrum!

We had so much fun last weekend with Dyan Reaveley!  It is always a treat to learn from a master in her craft and see her work!  I have loved seeing all the pictures on Instagram and Facebook - if you have some awesome images, we would love to see them!  Don't forget to tag us!

Sunday evening, I sat down and it hit me that Christmas is just a month and a half away (!!) and I can't believe it!  Every year, I feel like I am already behind before the holiday season gets started and making my Christmas card decision puts me on the right track.  Every year, I flip back and forth deciding whether to create a home made card to send to our family and friends or whether to use a photo card.  Or, do half and half.... so many choices!

I am curious - how many of you create your own holiday cards?  To the left of this post, we have a poll and can't wait to see what you are doing!  If you are making your cards, we have a TON of new holiday stamps and dies in the store to create your own beautiful cards.  Plus, as always, our design team has lots of goodies in the store for you to use for inspiration!  Don't be shy in the store - snap a picture or check them out on Pinterest!  Plus, we have lots of paper lines in stock, which are great for background papers, dies, and using all those little ephemera pieces!

We can't wait to see all these beautiful cards - share them on Instagram or Facebook (now, or after you mail them!) and don't forget to tag us!

Scrap Sketch Friday (and a challenge)!

I am feeling the need to flex my scrapbook muscles!  I haven't scrapbooked in a while - I missed the October crop and the November crop was cancelled because of our fabulous guest instructors - and I am just itching to get into some paper and embellies!

I like to scrap-lift or scrap-inspire a lot of my layouts.  It helps my brain get started on a creative path, especially if I am not feeling particularly motivated by my pictures.  I have to scrapbook chronologically (any one else???) and sometimes, I just need a little something to get me going!  I hopped on Pinterest and am LOVING this sketch!  It is simple enough to let my paper and pictures really shine, but is different from what I have used in the past.  I wanted to share it with you all and see what you created with it!

The sketch is originally from Shimelle.  If you don't know, she does a live Facebook Friday where she scrapbooks a page on Facebook live and talks about her process and products and all kinds of good things!  Kudos to her for being able to talk and do that at one time!

Anyways, I loved this layout and would love to see what you create with it!  If you scrap lift it, snap a picture and tag us on Instagram or Facebook!  In a few weeks, I will feature some on the blog!

We hope you will be joining us for class this weekend with Dyan.  There are still a few seats available on Sunday morning and afternoon! We would love to have you!
