Got Weekend Plans?

I am so excited for Easter weekend - it is my absolute favorite holiday!  We always host, which means there is always company in my house from Friday to Monday... sometimes longer.  I love having people over, but I have to have a plan.  We can't just sit around and stare at each other (it NEVER ends well), so I like to have something fun to do!

Looking for something to do this weekend?  With company or for a little me time?  Come on over to the City!  We have just the thing for you to do!

Saturday is our VIC Sale! That means if you have a blue card, everything in the store is on sale - just for you!  All blue cards get a 25% discount and if you aren't a blue card, you are still welcome to come shop!  Come grab those things you have had your eyes on, something for a bunny basket, or come take a peek at all the new things we have coming in since Creativation!  And, Yard Sale money is in so you have some store credit to spend y'all!!!!  It is a great chance to bump into your other favorite scrappers - it will be the place to be!  Plus, I always loved sharing the store with our family and friends.  It really is my home away from home.

Also, we have another fabulous Plannerds meeting going on!  Join us Saturday afternoon to get your planner on!  This event is free, but we do ask you RSVP so we make sure to have enough space for everyone.  Work on your planner, peruse for ideas, and check out the LEGENDARY swap table!  Seriously, you never know what kind of goodies you will find here!  Bring a friend or family member and have a crafting, bonding experience!

Beautiful and Bodacious!

We are so excited for this class tomorrow!  Our City Chick Margaret is back with another stunning card class featuring Penny Black stamps!  I know that we have had some requests for Stamp-A-Stack classes and this is the first of a few we have scheduled.

Okay, now to the class!  Margaret will be teaching this at noon and 6pm and you can register right here.  This class features a ton of the new dies from their line and I am loving all the light and delicate details!

How adorable are these?  I love how versatile these cards are - Perfect for Easter cards, a birthday card, thinking of you or just because cards.... good ones to keep in your card box.  (Does anyone else have one?  A box full of cards for every random occasion that you can whip something out of and make it look like you have it all together?)

Bring your toolkit, adhesive, and a blending tool if you have one, and join Margaret tomorrow!  You can register right here or call the store to get in on all the good stuff!

Basket Stuffers!

Are you getting ready for Easter?  Looking for some goodies to stick in your children or significant other's basket?  Need to forward this to your significant other?  We have a store stuffed (pun intended) with Easter basket goodies for kids of all ages!

Embellishments!
Stickers, washi, and more are great art supplies for kids of all ages!  With the invention of SN@P and Project Life, your elementary school aged kid can definitely scrapbook!  Grab a mini album and some paper (may I recommend Harry Potter or some cute spring paper?) and let them document their own memories!  My three year old LOVES washi tape!

Pens!
Give the gift of lettering!  Great for kids and adults (I have taught kids to letter from ages 8 and up) - it is a stress reliever and lots of fun!  For a super gift, enroll them in a lettering class too!  Our next class is on April 8th and a Hand Lettered Sermon notes class is that day to!

Stamps!
Grab a stamp set and ink pad and give the gift of cards!  Stamps are so versatile and can be used in cards or scrapbooks.  I love the idea of letting kids create their own thank yous!

Classes!
We have a calendar stuffed full of classes for April!  Register your loved on for a class and give the gift of learning.  From wood crafts to scrap club to knitting - you can learn something fun!  It is also a great thing to do as a family or a parent child event.  Fun fact: My dad and I took two sessions of Wilton cake decorating together when I was in elementary school and it is some of my very favorite memories together.  He was the only man and I was the only kid, but we had a great time and created a lot of memories... and every now and then, I still get to bust out my *very* rusty cake decorating skills!

Art Journals!
We just got a brand new pile of Dylusions Dyaries and accessories in the store!  What a great way to let your child play, document, and doodle!  Journals are a great for summer diaries or travel notebooks.  They are open ended a great for all types of artistic expression!

And, my last recommendation is not available at Scrappin' In the City, but I HIGHLY recommend it!  I found them at Target yesterday - they are Hershey's Eggs with Pretzels.  If you like salty and sweet, this is where it is at!  They are delightfully crunchy and salty and I love them.  I just really recommend it!

It's Never Too Late!

Happy Monday everyone!

We survived another crazy week and this is one is going to be crazier (!) as we gear up for Easter and the company arriving in town this week.  But, in addition to egg hunting, friends visiting, and laundry this weekend, I had one other major accomplishment - I finished my December Daily album - WOOT!  Even though it is definitely past the acceptable window of opportunity to accomplish it, I am really proud that I did and love the way it turned out.  So did the rest of my family who is asking to go see Christmas lights and drink hot chocolate.  He is not convinced that it isn't still winter and Christmas - come on spring!

So, I want to know... who has finished their December Daily?  Who has just a little - or maybe a lot - left to do?  How about my One Little Worders?  How are you doing on your daily March challenge?  I have surprised myself with doing it every single day and it really has made a difference in my life!  I will share what I did at the beginning of next month.

But, I wanted to take a Monday moment to say - you can do it!  Take a few minutes and wrap up the album, the challenge, a new layout.  It isn't too late to get started and it is never too late to finish something up.  Go and enjoy the fruits of a finished project- it is really nice!

Get inspired by our Monday motivation from last week (see, you can't always be on time and on the ball) and strive for some progress!

We can't wait to see what you are working on!  Drop us a picture on Facebook or Instagram or comment below!

Now, go get crafty on this Monday!

Yard Sale Preview!

Y'all!  It is here!  Yard Sale Day is here!  Sara and Tonya say it is the biggest one ever and they had to get really creative with displaying all the things! Clear out your trunk and bring a tote bag - or buy one here! ;)

I know we had lots of shoppers at the Consignor's Presale last night.  But, I wanted to share these pictures for those of you who didn't get a chance to swing by and check it out!

(I told you to grab a tote bag here!!!  Look at all those bags!)

Seriously, the biggest yard sale ever!  This is one of my favorite events - there are all kinds of goodies.  Think about grabbing some discounted supplies for your kids to play with - my son LOVES stickers and stamps and this is a great place to grab some for a great price.  Got a classroom to stock - check out the stashes of cardstock and paper and some alphabet sets for a spelling station.  Snag a few punches to work on that fine motor strengths!  A paper organizer for your general life mess... or maybe just me who has general life mess.  The yard sale is a great one stop shop for all the parts of your life!

The yard sale is open to shop today from 10-6 and tomorrow is half price day all day!  Grab a friend and come by!

And, before I finish this post, I have to give a huge shout out of amazingness to our City Chick Tonya who puts this whole shebang together!  She sorts, organizes, displays, and works the entire event - and then cleans up afterwards!  Tonya, you are amazing (and I don't ever want this job)!  Make sure you say thank you to Tonya while you shop this weekend!

Now, go get shopping!

Easter Card Inspiration!

Confession time.... I am not a huge card maker.  I love the beautiful homemade cards other people create and I love getting them in the mail, but I can't ever seem to make mine look as amazing!  And, not going to lie, sometimes, you have to draw a line for what you have time to do.  Plus, I have a three year old who makes cute cards for all our family members.  I have learned from him that there is no time that a race car sticker is inappropriate ;)

Easter is my favorite holiday!  I will take it any day and we are working on a few Easter cards for the family members we won't see on Easter this year!  And, while all of mine will have vehicle-themed stickers, I thought these were great inspiration for you guys!

I know we did a little Lawn Fawn on Monday and I thought this card would be so easy to change into a sweet little Easter card!

Do you make Easter cards?  We would love to see them!

Don't forget to drop off your design team submissions - just a few days left!  We are always looking for great card makers too!!!

Adoption, Expecting, and Celebrating!

I am so excited to share these with you all!  I squealed out loud when I read these lines were headed to the store!  A HUGE high five to Simple Stories for two line themes I have never seen before!  Ready to know what it is???

Simple Stories has released a mini-line for adoption, a mini-line for expecting mamas, and a mini-line for 4th of July! These are still on pre-order and we are taking orders at the store.  This means that you will be the first to get your fingers on one of these when they roll into the store!

First up, the adoption pages!  I could not be more excited about this line coming to the store.  Adoption has been a big part of my life for many years and I love how Simple Stories is celebrating this incredible event of creating families!  I also love how it is gender and age neutral - this could definitely be used for documenting the adoption of older kids too!

And, expecting a bundle of joy???  How sweet is this line?  Hooray for celebrating mamas Simple Stories - another gender neutral line to celebrate your future arrival.

And, finally, celebrating the 4th of July!

I love that red truck, or rather my son will be loving that red truck, from the 4th of July line!  We are always team trucks in this house!

Loving these lines and can't wait to see them!  They will ship the second week of April (hopefully) and we want to make sure you get one.  If you want any of these lines, drop us a line and we will put it in the order book, guaranteeing that you get one when they roll into the store!

Now, go get crafty!
