And, then on Sunday, join me (!) to do a little hand lettering!  First up, we are learning all the basics at Beginner Hand Lettering!  Whether your handwriting is delightful or terrifying (mine is terrifying), you can learn the basics of beautiful modern calligraphy!  Grab a few brush pens and join us at the store on Sunday.  There are three spots left so don't miss out on yours!  Register for the class right here!  You can do this - you just need to learn a few techniques!

Scrapbook Inspiration!

Happy Thursday everyone!

I just rolled back into town after an extended Thanksgiving trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!  We had a wonderful time with family and then a delightful time as a family of three in Disney.  Now, however, I am trying to catch up with all the things.  And, I am looking forward to planning my vacation scrapbook!

So, I decided to do a little deep dive into Pinterest and found some adorable, scrapliftable layouts!  These are great layouts and sketches to have in your arsenal for the next time you get a moment to scrap!

I love the ones with tons of little die cuts.  I think it is a great way to use the end of a paper line, when you just have a handful of little stickers, die cuts, and pieces left!  Waste not, scrap more!

Rustic Open House

Happy Friday y'all!
I hope everyone is gearing up for a super fun weekend of chilly weather.  It is definitely putting me in the holiday mood.  I am feeling more inspired than usual to get my shopping done and my wrapping started!  (Personal note - I will be at the Retropolitan Craft Fair this Sunday with lettering kits - which make great gifts!  There are tons of great artists.  Come get some goodies for all the people on your nice list!)

If you are ready (or not), to kick off the holiday season, you need to make plans to attend our Rustic Christmas Open House!  There are a few awesome reasons to attend - a day of crafting with friends before the hubbub of the holiday season, create and make adorable home decor (or Christmas gifts!) for yourself or a loved one, and we have a fabulous coupon for attendees - 15% off your total purchase that day!  Woot!  You can grab everything you need to finish a papercrafted gift or those Christmas cards.

I have the pictures of all of the projects!  I can't wait to share them with you!  It is totally amazing that you will get to make all SIX of these in 4 hours!

We have these adorable Rae Dunn inspired ornament!

A vintage mason jar!  You will learn the techniques to painting and distressing chalk paint.  This is ready to be filled as a gift or a part of your home decor!

My son is ready to sign up just for this!  He loves a good red truck :)  I love these super cute ornaments and they are so different from any other ornament I have on my tree.

This is a gift bag!  How cute would this be under your tree or at a Secret Santa gift exchange!

This is a Tussie Mussie - a pocket sized gift bag!  It is the right size to hang on the tree with something special inside.  Yours will include a Naked Bee chapstick!  This is another super adorable gifting vessel!

I totally have one of these in my office and LOVE IT!  I keep inspiration quotes pinned up on it.  These little pallet reminder boards are amazing and great for anyone on your gift list.  I was also thinking about how you could keep a Christmas dinner menu on here as an adorable home decor piece.

Can you believe that all of that is going to be accomplished in 4 hours!?!  We can't wait to have you be a part of our special day.  Spots are going super fast - we only have TWO left in the morning and a few more in the afternoon.  You can get registered right here.  Don't miss the opportunity to join us - get your holiday season started off on the right foot!

All The Heart Eyes

Happy Thursday you all!

We are putting all the Thanksgiving and Christmas magic on hold for just one second, so I can talk about.... Valentine's Day!  I just got an email from Sara that the brand new Pebbles line Love Me has shipped and is on the way to the store!

That's right - we are rushing Christmas for Valentines!  Pebbles, in my opinion, always knocks it out of the park for Halloween and Valentine's Day this year is no different.  They went with a softer, creamier pink and lots of adorable animals!  I don't have lots of paper pictures, but I grabbed the front of the 12x12 pack.  We will have open stock of the paper when it arrives!

Okay, so feast your eyes on this adorableness!

How sweet are these!?!  Now, you can go ahead and start working on those Valentine's as you wrap up Christmas cards ;)

To December Daily... or Not!

Hey guys!

I am sure you have seen the kits and packs and paper lines circulating in the creative circles about the new December Daily kits.  There are lots of choices and I wanted to share my experience!

So, first choice - grab a kit or paper line!
There are lots of "pre-made" kits for December Daily albums.  Ali Edwards has been making on for a long time, as well as Studio Calico and Elle's Studio.  These kits usually contain some papers, a lot of 3x4 and 4x6 cards and lots of other embellishments.  But, with the advent of 3x4 cards built into 12x12 papers, you can totally grab your favorite Christmas paper line, cut it up, and make your own kit!  I love this option is you wanted to take a faith-based view on your December Daily (I mean, how awesome would it be to create a journal of the Advent stories???) or if you love a good vintage Christmas, grab some vintage Christmas paper!

Once you have your supplies done, there are three options for creating!
1) Pre-do it!  If this is your jam, start now!  Pre-done albums are scrapbooked for everything-but-the-pictures!  Think about it like a Scrap Club album.  You make the pages and plug in your pictures when the days roll around.  This is a great way for your album not to get lost in the hubbub of the holiday season.

2) As-you-go!  I am in awe of people who do this!  The idea is that you do a page each day as the holiday season goes on.  Scrapping and printing pictures as you go along is a great way to reflect on each day and make sure no tiny memories go un-documented.

3) When it's over.... This is totally me.  I work on my December Daily when the whole thing is over!  I always make a plan of what I want to include, check it off as the season goes on, and then scrapbook it when it is over.  This allows me to adjust the schedule of events when it changes - because in our family, change always happens.  One of my tricks, so I don't forget things is to hang a little plastic bag on the fridge.  In here, I drop any memorabilia - tickets, pictures, notes - that we collect between Thanskgiving and New Years.  I also jot down anything super adorable about Christmas that Anderson says.  I would rather have the stuff to weed through as I scrapbook than struggle to remember in January!

Need some inspiration to get started?  Ali Edwards has flip-throughs of her albums on her YouTube page.  Plus, there are tons of other scrappers who share theirs!  You can also look on Pinterest for lots of samples and examples of December Daily layouts.

My biggest concern would be having this separate album and nothing in my regular scrapbook.  If I am being 100% honest, I haven't even made it to last Christmas in my regular album, so I feel like I have captured the tiny memories that would be lost in the cracks of time.  Plus, I am still planning on hitting some of our Christmas favorites with a few layouts in the family album.  But, with the mini-album, I can scrap and savor every single moment of the holiday season!

If all of this seems like it is too much to keep track of - have no fear!  Sara is planning an amazing album that is a complete 12x12 (!!) Christmas album for January.  It is using the line Christmas by Carta Bella, which is full of traditional colors and patterns.  Registration is not open quite yet - we are putting the finishing touches on the album.  I will share the link when it goes live!
Overall, I highly recommend the whole experience!  I love having a tiny album to flip back through for just those holiday memories!  I am so so so glad I did it!

What do you think?  Will you be creating a December Daily this year?  Share your plan in the comments or on Facebook!
