It's Almost August!

Hey friends!

Can you believe that it is ALMOST AUGUST?!?  Where has this year gone?  It has flown by and I can't believe that it is almost fall.  I, for one, can't wait for the temperature to drop about 20 degrees!  But, today, I want you to grab those planners and make sure that you have a chance to catch some creative time this month!

So without further ado, our August class calendar!

We are also mixing it up and hosting our FABULOUS monthly make and take with Margaret on Saturday, August 3rd!  Margaret is helping us create these adorable tags using a new Glitter Mister!  Please make sure you allow at least 20 minutes to get signed in and the project completed.  I know there will be a line for this one!

August 6

Margaret is bringing another AMAZING class featuring the newest Penny Black stamp release!  We will use Tombow Dual Brush markers, versafine, and Distress inks to create these gorgeous and dimensional flowers!  They are perfect for any occasion and would definitely gussy up someone's mailbox!  Grab your seat at this link right here!

August 17

After Inky Chicks, Margaret will be hosting wood crafts open house! August 27

It's Scrap Club time!  Spend a little time creating with us and walk away with SIX picture ready pages!  Our focus is back to school featuring the Authentique line Scholastic!  (On a semi-related note, when I saw this title, I thought it was the Scholastic Book Fair and that was almost as exciting as Scrap Club!)  You will walk away with finished pages.  If you can't make it, you can snag a kit with all the materials and directions!  Grab your spot or kit right here!

And.... in the evening, Missy is hosting Bible Journaling technique class!  Join her at 6pm to learn about all things Vellum!  These spots always go fast, so be sure to get your seat right here.  This class is great for new or experienced bible journalers, so if you want to learn, this is a great place to start!

August 28

Join Gina for Travelers Notebook time!  We will be working in the ever-trendy travelers notebooks and learning how to use the paper line Blue Skies and Sunshine from Simple Stories.  This is a great way to learn how to make the most of your notebooks!  Snag a seat right here!

August 31

Mark your calendar for our VIC shopping day!  Our VIC's get 25% off their entire purchase (some exclusions apply - sorry).  However, this is one of my favorite times to stock back up on those basics, like adhesive, cardstock, and trimmer blades... plus a new line or two!  Not sure if you are a VIC, holler at the store and we can let you know!

We are so excited for all these new classes!  Make sure that you grab your seat now - they will sell out quickly!

Gift Tags in July!

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you all are off to a great start with the week!  I was super excited about how adorable those cut files from Paige Evans were yesterday.  You can still grab them from her page, in case you missed it yesterday!

While it is still (barely) July, I thought I would get in on a little Christmas in July magic!  I love a homemade gift tag.  Honestly, they can be easy to make and start your gifts off with a little homemade touch... whether the gift is homemade or not.  I snagged some of my most favorite ones that are simple, easy to create, and die cutter-able (meaning lots of them for little effort)!

I really love the little coffee cup one! This would be perfect for that gift of a Starbucks card to a co-worker or neice any time of year!  I also love that the writing space is a little bigger on homemade tags.  As I have a little friend that is starting to write, having a little extra space is very helpful to me!

Which ones do you all like?

A Little Monday Magic!

Hello everyone!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend and are ready for this week!  We have been super busy over here and I am excited to have a little quiet time this week :)  Plus, I have some SUPER FABULOUS news for you all!  One of our favorite scrappers is making this Monday even better!

Paige Evans is giving away NINE (!!!) free cut files today in her Facebook group - The Happy Scrappy Place!  They are dropping today, but they are available for forever... all you have to do is request to join the group.  You can snag your spot at this link right here!  You have to answer two questions to get in, but they are pretty easy - how long have you ben scrapping and if you are interested in getting her emails!  Easy peasy!

I am patiently waiting for her new line to drop in the store, so this will definitely help distract me for the time being!

...And, one more friendly reminder!  Balances for the August retreat are due!  Please make sure you pay your balance to save your spot.  If you aren't sure if you have a balance, call the store and we can let you know!

Authentique!

Happy Thursday!

We have lots of new goodies rolling into the store!  Just before we left for Stamp and Scrapbook Expo, we had two BRAND NEW lines from Authentique drop into the store.   We are so excited to have Scholastic AND Twilight in the store!  Scholastic is a back to school line and Twilight is perfect for Halloween.

I am LOVING this super adorable mini album from Authentique's design team.  It is super cute for a back to school mini album or even to tuck into a full size album!

I haven't found anything that has been created with the Twilight line... it is brand spankin' new!  But, here is a little sneak peek at the line.

What do you all think - which one do you like best?  Swing by the store and grab your line today!  Or, you can call and we will pull it off the floor and hold it for you (with payment please)!

Summer Fun Lettering Printables

Hey everyone!

We are halfway through our week and I wanted to share a new set of lettering printables with you!  It is another two page set of letters - both brush pen (the right size for a small nibbed pen) and a monoline worksheet.  I love monoline lettering becuase it is a great way to practice your letter shapes before you have to add in all the technical stuff with pen pressure and holding your pen.  The more comfortable you are with your letter shapes, the more naturally they will flow with a brush pen in your hand!

This particular set is also one of my favorites because they make great scrapbook/travelers notebook/planner titles!  Feel free to trace them into your favorites - or you can also letter it on vellum and fussy cut it out!  It makes an awesome looking extra or embellishment!  You can grab your set of free lettering printables at this link!

I am also super excited that we are carrying the Tombow Fude pens (my favorites for lettering) in all the colors!  You can get them open stock at the store.  They are the "Crayola primary" colors, but are a great small pen for lettering and now even better with color!

Don't forget to get your lettering practice in - just 10 minutes a day makes a world of difference!

Blender Brushes!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend - it took me an extra day to recover from a hoppin' Stamp and Scrapbook Expo!  It was so much fun and I highly recommend going if you have never been before!  There is TONS of shopping (with all stamp and scrapbook vendors - no non-crafty people!), a cute crop space, make and takes for days, and so many classes my head was spinning!  We already have our calendars marked for next year.

I wanted to share with you one of the things that flew out of our booth this weekend - these Taylored Expressions blending brushes!  They are adorable and rainbow colored and the perfect size for all kind of stamp and ink blending!

The set of 10 is $48.99 and we have the spinning caddy also available for $17.89!  I have seen so many people using these and I spotted on Jennifer McGuire's desk too!  They are a great size and are really comfortable to hold in your hand.  You can grab a set in the store or online at this link!  Can't make it in today?  Call and we can hold one for you (with payment please!)!

What do you all think?  Perfect for adding a little color to your crafting?

Layout Love!

Happy Thursday!

I am so excited to be packing up for Stamp and Scrapbook Expo this weekend!  Sara is teaching a Kiwi Lane class and I am teaching hand lettering and chalk lettering. How many friendly faces will we be seeing this weekend?

If you aren't joining us in Duluth this weekend, there is lots of creating to be done!  I wanted to share a few cute scrapbook sketches and card sketches for a little weekend crafting inspiration.

And some cute cards too!

I love the simple shapes of these cards!  I think it lends itself to lots of different stamp brands and shapes - I keep thinking of these third one with some of those beautiful Penny Black stamps.

What do you all think?  What are you planning to create this weekend?
I will be back on Monday to share lots of pictures and goodies from Stamp and Scrapbook Expo!

Inspiration Station!

Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone is off to a great start!  We are packing our bags and headed down to Duluth for the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo!  I feel like we have been talking about this event for the longest time and it is finally here!  If you are headed down this weekend, make sure you say hello and drop by our booth!

If you are prepping for a weekend of crafting, I wanted to share my favorite resource with you all!  I don't think this is new for anyone that I am a big fan of Pinterest for all things creative, but I also love what our fabulous design team has been creating.  Did you all know that all the Design Team work gets uploaded to the store's Pinterest page?  TRUE STORY!  You can find all their amazing work - cards, layouts, minialbums, and more - on Pinterest.

Plus, on our Pinterest page you can sort by most recent or by board.  Each of our design team members (and City Chicks) each have their own board!  This is a great way to scraplift!  There are some scrapper's who have a style you just align with and you can see all their work in one place!  Plus, they can be saved for later. These are some of my recent favorites!

A huge thanks to all these scrappers and their hard work!  I can't wait to get a little crafty time in!

More New Goodies

Happy Tuesday friends!

What did you all think about the new Doodlebug lines from yesterday?  Anyone have it on their have to have list?  I love this time of the year with all the brand new releases. It is my personal Christmas in July!  And, then again in February when the other releases come out :)

I have another new set of releases that have been ordered and will be on their way to the City soon!  We are so excited to get our hands on these two new lines from Bella Blvd!  Here are some highlights from their new release - Squeeze the Day and Bella Besties.

Squeeze the Day is a perfect summer line featuring all your favorite fruits!  Plus, lots of the papers are fruit puns!

I am loving the BellaPops!  I think they are just like Doodlepops from Doodlebug!  There are tons of embellishments for this line.  I am not sure what is headed this way, but if you have a hankering for anything in particular, let us know and we can get it ordered!

The second line is a perfect background/partner line!  They are simple patterns meant to pair with lots of different Bella Blvd lines and can help you stretch your stash!
It features a ton of colors!  One side is a small polka dot and one is a small cross hatch.  I was thinking about all my card makers when I saw this and it is a perfect supplement for you guys!

What do you all think of these lines? Anything on your must have list?  You can call the store and have your favorites put in the order book!

New Doodlebug!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and got a little creating crafting time in!  We are excited to be headed to Stamp and Scrapbook Expo this weekend to be both a vendor and teach.  And, I am going too!  I will be there teaching hand lettering and chalk lettering.  Hopefully, we will see lots of familiar faces!

But, I wanted to kick this week off right with a little sneak peek of what is headed to the store!  These brand new lines from Doodlebug are on order, so they should be in the store in a few weeks. They are releasing a new back to school line - School Days - and a super cute travel line called I Heart Travel!
One of my favorite things about Doodlebug lines is ALL the embellishments!  Theydo not skimp on all the things that you want to create something amazing.

And, I got a sneak peek at a School Days die cut pack and it has 116 die cuts!  WHAT! That is a ton and they will be able to be used for all kinds of projects - scrapbook layouts, travelers notebook, planners, and more!  Also, let me say that I LOVE this layout!  The primary colors are really popping and I feel like make this perfect for the first day for any age kid!

I am loving all these super cute details in the travel line!  I also love that is covers every mode of vacation - car, bus, taxi, and cruise ship - and more!  Perhaps my favorite part is the fill in tags that are perfect for journaling!  My son is also watching me work this morning and has a hot hankering for the taxi Doodlepops!

What do you think?  Are you a fan?
These are currently ordered, but will not be here for a few weeks.  If you can't wait to get your hands on these lines, call the store and have them add it to the order book!

Now, go get crafty!
