Retreat Packing Time!

We are a little less than three weeks away (!!!) from our Jewel of the Nile crop and we can't wait!  The tiny details are being finalized, classes are being designed, and it is time to start getting your packing list together!  We have a few more seats available, so grab a buddy or come make a new one and enjoy the amazing event!  These huge crops are so much fun - they have a buzzing energy with all the people around and creativity hanging in the air.  However, the one way to not have a great time - forget something major!

We always have our mini-store with us and tons of cardstock, tools, adhesives, and more available to on site ship AND the real store is just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road.  What you don't want to leave behind are the things we can't replace - pictures, that favorite paper line from 5 years ago (or that may just be me...), or the bag of peanut M&M's you bought and are hiding in your closet for this occasion (that could just be me too!!!)!

So, to help prevent these crazy oversights, we crowd-sourced and put together a little packing list just for you!

Retreat Packing List - Scrapbook Things

o Scissors
o Adhesive tape AND liquid glue
o Journaling pens
o Project kits
o Thickers!
o Embellishments
o Paper lines (stored in class bags!)

Retreat Packing List - Non-Scrapbook Things
o Tissues
o Blanket or jacket
o PJ’s
o Flipflops or slide-on shoes
o Slippers
o A wide variety of snacks
o Checkbook
o Lunchbox to keep drinks cold
o iPad/Laptop/Tablet AND headphones

I like to pack for flexible weather - we have been both hot and cold in the basement of the Marriott, so plan ahead and tuck a jacket in there.  Also, because it is such a large group, we do ask that you wear headphones while watching that Tim Holtz tutorial or latest season of This is Us!

My other favorite thing - a wagon!  I have a collapsible wagon that I use for my son and my scrapbooking.  It folds up tiny in the car, but opens up and can drag in my heavy paper bag and other tool bags.  I leave my papers in there and slide the whole thing under the table and use it like a drawer for the weekend.  It keeps my mess up high and it ensures that I don't have runaway paper sliding somewhere under the table.  You can get the wagons at places like Costco and Academy Sports and are really reasonably priced!   This retreat has plenty of table space so feel free to bring a tiny shelf to sit on the table too!  (I love the "under the counter organizer" available at Kroger in the kitchen appliance section for about $8!)

What would you add to this list?  Any other crop MUST HAVES?
