Dies!!

Let’s chat about dies...the thin metal kind. They are everywhere...like this card by Rachelle Gianaris. She used a trio of birdhouse dies from Impression Obsession and small pieces of patterned paper to make a quick card with lots of interest. “Hello” is also a die from Lawn Fawn. I believe the scallop circle is a paper punch (We have it available to use in our upstairs work room). These dies stand alone...there are no matching stamp sets. These are basic images that can be used in multiple designs.

This Lawn Fawn die set is an example of a die with a matching stamp set. Lawn Fawn is really good about creating stamp sets with matching die sets for those of us who would rather go to the dentist than fussy cut stamped images :). I love the Copic coloring Rachelle Gianaris did with this card...being able to create shadows makes the images really come to life! (Lawn Fawn Baked with Love stamp set and dies.)

This is another Lawn Fawn stamp and die set (Sweet Smiles). All those gumballs! Even though the die is meant to pair up with a particular stamped image, there is every reason to use the dies to stamp paper...patterned paper, colored paper, glitter paper, vellum,... you get the idea! Dixie Cravens stamped the gumballs out then colored them with markers and topped each gumball with Glossy Accents for shine. The floral background is washi tape!

Here is a last look at this Sweet Smiles stamp and die set used in a more traditional way. Rachelle Gianaris stamped and colored the images with Copic markers then die cut them. This process allowed her to use a bold pattern and not lose her stamped images.

Thanks for looking and reading today! Thanks to Rachelle for the inspiration on using dies!
