Copics Money Saver!

  Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you had a great weekend!  At our house, we are excited to have a three day weekend to celebrate a birthday and build a custom closet - hooray!  I hope you all are excited to have just as much fun :)

I know that many of you have made it over to the store to check out the latest Lawn Fawn arrival since Carla shared a sneak peek in the VIC group this week.  I'll share more of the new arrival next week!  Lots of my Lawn Fawn lovers are also Copics users for gorgeous coloring.  I wanted to share my two favorite Copics money savers with you all!  Copic markers are a huge investment and worth every penny, but I know that replacing them is not always fun! (If you want a specific marker, here is the list of what we have in the store!)

Most of the time, we replace a marker for two reasons: out of ink or a busted nib!  And, your favorite City Chicks can solve both of those problems for you at a fraction of the cost of a new marker!

We refill Copic markers in the store for just a few dollars!  Bring in your markers and we will add ink to the existing body and they are good to go.  (Side note: call ahead and make sure we have the color you need - we have a lot, but not all of them.  Any color you do need refilled can be ordered!)

The other Copic conundrum is a scruffy nib.  After a lot of use or maybe use on some scratchy paper, the felt nibs of Copics (and other markers) can become warn and have stray hairs on them.  You can always give it a careful trim with a pair of scissors, but if it is really fuzzy, I recommend replacing the whole nib.  Nib replacement is remarkably simple, but slightly messy.  We sell replacement nibs - a three pack is in the store for $8.49.  That is three marker rescues for the price(ish) of a new marker!  This is a great option for marker repair!  You can get a package of new nibs at this link right here!

If you need a tutorial on replacing a nib, check out this video from Cathy Zielske.

Now, go get crafty!
