Inks and Trash Make Pretty Pages!
Are you looking for a technique to gussy up a few pages, cards, or simple canvases? Scrappin' In The City VIC Jody Compton showed me a few tricks and tips to make an adorable layout! I love how this uses the paints and watercolors she already had with a simple piece of cardstock!
Jody started with a piece of plastic wrapper from a collection kit. She cut it into a smaller piece, but you could use a piece of plastic from embellishments, stickers, or something tinier!
To that, she painted a small amount of watercolor paint! Jody was using white for this layout.
Then, she flipped it over and dabbed it onto the red cardstock.
She repeated with the watercolors a few times! After that, Jody added a bit of acrylic paint with a really wet paintbrush. She pushed the paint around to spread it out across the plastic.
Jody repeated this a few times, across the entire cardstock page!
After that, she layered some precious pictures of her youngest, Joshua and added a few Valentine's Day embellishments from Pebbles and a couple of Thickers!
Thanks Jody for sharing your super easy trick to add texture to pages! I can't wait to try this out. I think I might be using it to make some fireworks for a Fourth of July page or perhaps some popsicle and ice cream drips for a summer snacks page.
