Glow in the Dark Magic!

One of Lawn Fawn's latest releases was a glow in the dark embossing powder!  It has been pretty popular at the store and we are expecting it to go super fast at the Scrapbook Expo this weekend.  It was shown with the adorable firefly stamp and die set, but we wanted to know what other stamp and die lines it would go well with.... so, we put Jessica Walters on the case!  Jessica is one of our wonderful Design Team ladies and a huge lover of Lawn Fawn.  Jessica shared some adorable cards that she made - and a few tips to make your glow in the dark cards rock!

PS - You can see all of these cards at the Scrapbook Expo this weekend!

Okay... check out these cuties!

These have lots of adorable embossing powder in sweet places - the tv edges light up, just like your regular tv.  The alien's ship lights up, as well as the cone, the house lights, and the car's headlights.  The submarine lights up in the third card, as well as the eel and angler fish in the last card!

Need some tips to make your embossing look amazing!  With accent powder, like the glow in the dark, you may not want to put it all over.  So, instead of covering the whole wet stamp in powder, Jessica suggests using a tool to strategically place the ink.

Jessica uses the little glue sticks/dental tools (available in the store) to place the ink just where she wants it.  This is great for adding a little embossing ink in just the right places.  She recommends using a lot of embossing powder - especially for glow in the dark.  And, be sure to make sure it gets a little natural light to charge before you check it out!  Plus, be sure to color your image first and emboss second.  Jessica says that when she adds embossing powder second, it can sometimes give her pieces a dappled look - especially with watercolored pieces!

These cards are available for your viewing pleasure at the Scrapbook Expo this weekend - and I would guess they are going to be in the store afterwards!  Feel free to come grab a peek or take a picture to inspire you when you sit down to make some cute cards!

After looking at all of these, I was thinking, how cute would your Halloween cards be with some glowing embossing powder???  You could make your Jack O'Lantern's eye's glow and add some seriously spooky accents to your ghosts!

Thank you so much for sharing your adorable cards and helpful hints Jess!

Now, come see us this weekend - in Atlanta or Chattanooga - and get crafty!
