August Happenings!

Can you believe it is August?  That means that summer vacation is (almost) over and the cool weather is coming (right?!?!)  We have lots of good things coming to you this month, so grab those day planners and let's get scheduled! 

Okay, first, tonight, we have an awesome viewing party scheduled at the store to watch the brand new crafting show Making It! It is brought to you by Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler (the magical Ron and Leslie from Parks and Rec).  There are a few more spots open for snacks and crafts!  Register for an evening of fun right here!

August 5

Join me to hand letter!  We will have a beginner hand lettering class right after lunch and a chalk lettering class in the afternoon!  You will learn everything you need to know to get started on your lettering journey - PLUS get lots of tips and tricks to make that adorable first day of school chalk board!  

Beginner hand lettering walks you through all the pens you need, as well as how to hold the pen and make your basic pen strokes and alphabets!  Anyone can letter - even if your handwriting is terrible!  Got a teen who is interested?  Bring them too!  Ready to letter - sign up right here!

Chalk lettering is a class that requires no hand lettering experience!  We will focus on all the tips and tricks to make dynamic and awesome boards.  You will get a 12x16 inch board and a bag full of chalk lettering tools!  Sign up for chalk lettering right here! And PS - don't wear a black shirt!

August 9

Join the magical Margaret to make some adorable parts of your HOME series!  She will be creating apples and witch hats to get you started in the fall season.  Margaret will tell you everything you need to know to make these adorable projects look professional!  We have noon and 6pm classes.  Sign up for classes right here!

Make and Take!

Margaret is back with another fabulous make and take featuring Lawn Fawn's hot new product Glow in the Dark embossing powder!  This dust flew off the shelves at Scrapbook Expo and we can't wait for you to get your hands on it!  You don't have to sign up - just swing by when you get a minute.  Be sure to leave at least 20 minutes to complete the project!

Kids Bible Journaling

Missy is bringing bible journaling to our littlest crafters! This class is great for crafty kids ages 5 and up.  All supplies are provided and we would love to help you get started with bible journaling on a kid-friendly level.  All parents will need to stay with their crafters!  Class starts at 10:30 and you can sign up here!

Bible Journaling - Story Teller Series

And now, big kids!  Missy has another Story Teller group for adults.  This class sold out last time and you do not want to miss out.  We will be bible journaling and creating a flip book to tell our story.  You will get an Illustrated Faith kit and get to play with some mixed media techniques too!  Sign up for bible journaling right here!

August 14

Bible Journaling is back!  This is our monthly journaling class!  Missy will be teaching the skills of paint scraping and using leftover scrapbook paper (no one has any right ;) )!  If you have ever wanted to try bible journaling, this is the class for you.  We always meet the second Tuesday of the month and learn something new to try in bible journaling.  Ready to sign up?  Click this link right here!

August 17-18

The Yard Sale is back (everyone shout hooray)!  This is always a crazy popular event and we love getting to shop in the fun things people have in their stash.  To get started at the Yard Sale, swing by the store to get your tags and sign the agreement.  You can use tags from previous sales, but you do have to sign up everytime.  And, you can reuse your number from event to event!  Drop off is the week before - refer to the agreement for all the specifics.  Plus, consignor presale is Thursday, August 16 from 6-8!  Woot!  

August 25

Inky Chicks time!  We had to move Inky Chicks because of the yard sale, but we are so excited to be focusing on Collage!  Margaret will teach you lots of tips to bring your art journal to life with collages!  You can sign up for Inky Chicks right here!

Grab your planners - it is time for the Plannerds Meetup!  This event is free (but does require a reservation) and a bunch of awesome ladies love to get together to work in their planners.  They are also legendary for the stash and share!  Want to come join in the fun and learn a bit about planner-ing?  Sign up right here!

And... we have Shadowbox class in the afternoon too!  There are two options to make - a summer and a fall box!  You will make all the cute pieces and parts to have this adorable interchangeable piece of home decor.  Margaret is a whiz at creating and teaching these classes!  Be sure to join in on the fun! And, last but not least, Scrap Club!  This class always sells out in a hurry!  

August 28

We will be using Echo Park's Back to School line by Lori Whitlock.  In class, we will be making 3 2-page layouts just perfect for scrapping those back to school pictures (featuring that precious first day of school chalkboard)!
