Retreat Advice!
**We are taking a break from sneak peek week to talk about Retreat Advice! We will be back with more eye candy straight from CHA tomorrow!**
It is just 16 sleeps away! I am so excited about the Superhero retreat the first weekend in February! Last week, we brought you our week-by-week planner and this week, we share some crowd-sourced advice from seasoned retreat professionals! I can't wait to see everyone and am literally counting down the days.
So, without further ado, some wise words from our favorite ladies!
-Plan and prepare, but don't feel like you have to do everything according to plan! Part of the fun is spontaneity and being inspired by all the amazing crafters around you!
-Don't forget your photos and adhesive! (Although, there will be plenty of adhesive in the mini-store steps away from your table and at the regular store open all weekend!)
-Pack a desk lamp!
-Bring snacks if you have special dietary needs - creativity is impeded by a hungry tummy!
-Pack a rolling cart or wagon to help carry your stuff in! Plus, it is great for organizing your supplies, without setting them on the floor!
-I love packing a wire shelf, it adds to the table top storage I have. I found it on the kitchen tools aisle of Kroger for less than $10 a few years ago.
-Don't forget chargers and headphones and a power strip! We have music playing, but sometimes it is nice to be in your own zone! Also, there are usually tons of plug space, but it never hurts to be safe.
-Bring something to put your paper trimming scraps and trash in!
-Save your pennies for the mini-store! Sara usually finds some amazing goodies to put in the mini-store that you have never seen in the regular store. Plus, you always need more cardstock, adhesive, and other basics!
-Don't be shy! Ask someone if you can snap a picture of a card or layout. We have tons of inspiration around us - feel free to use it!
-Get rest (Editors Note: I both love and hate this advice)! Good sleep means lots of creativity!
-Don't over pack! Take what you need, but don't get bogged down in all. the. things!
-Kit/bag up your page plans or card kits so you don't forget something you really want to use.
-Don't forget- you are here to have fun! Don't make it a race or a competition! Do what you need to do to have a magnificent time!
Now, go get crafty!
